Liked Great location the receptionist was very helpful. The swimming pool was a bonus. The location 5 minutes walk from Lake Garda is amazing. This is a beach and sun type of location. The toilet block was good and regularly cleaned.

Disliked The heat during our time there was intense, not the place to take a dog. There was no toilet paper in the toilets

Liked The owner was very welcoming and helpful, gave a tour of the site and the pitch options. Right next to Lake Ghirla with its own private beach. We both went swimming every day, and the dog. The on site bar was very friendly and served a great pizza. Fresh croissants each morning. The owner’s son was very helpful, with places to visit in the area including the best supermarket. The toilet and showers were good

Liked Great location with good size level pitch. The toilet block was good and kept clean. The site is next to the river and great for a swim and dog friendly. Plenty of good walks in the area.

Liked The bar on site was great for meeting fellow travellers, the first night we were there the local were in fancy dress which made for a great atmosphere. Fresh croissants in the morning

Liked We received a great welcome and were shown the layout of the site. The farm shop was well stocked with a variety of products. The unisex toilet block worked very well with plenty of hot water

Liked The welcome when we arrived, the layout of the site was great with some tent pitches hidden in the trees. Great area to exercise our dog.

Liked This is the 4th time we have visited portisham. Site is very clean and tidy, staff are allways friendly and cheerful, lovely pub great meals just outside, on site vending machines are good, but a shop just over the road. With excellent walks around you.

Liked A friendly welcome by the staff who were helpful and cheerful throughout our stay. The toilet block had good hot water including the dish washing, cleaned regularly. The laundry was very useful. The forest location was good with plenty of walks and exercise for the dog.

Disliked The bus stop was not within easy walking distance.

Liked The pitches were nice and level, the toilet/shower were hot both water and room and well maintained. The bus into York stopped outside the site entrance.

Disliked The condition of the road around the site. With no reception makes the visit a little impersonal.

Liked Ailsa was very welcoming, friendly and helpful, and very proud of their farm animals.The site was small but all the facilities were very clean and well maintained. All the gravel pitches overlooked the fishing lake and close to the loo. The bus into Lincoln stopped outside the site entrance and brought us back to the entrance later in the day. The local nature reserve was within easy walking distance and we saw a heron, barn owl and cormorant flying overhead. We had a great stay.

Liked The food in the pub was amazing. The staff were very friendly couldn’t do enough. We loved the trivia pursuits cards on the table had a great game while waiting for food. The showers in the ladies were amazing so hot best I have had. It was also so good to see the pub raising so much for charity, I bought a knitted Santa for my van in aid of guide dogs.

Disliked The pitches weren’t marked very clear but that’s a bit picky.

Liked This site is in a great location with first class facilities. The shower block was kept spotlessly clean, as was the site generally. There was a laundry and drying room, great after a wet walk. We received a very friendly welcome and all the staff would stop and chat. The pitch was level with plenty of space. There was a bus stop right next to the site entrance with buses running regularly to Conniston one way and Keswick the other way. All in all a great stay.

Liked Gregg was on site to greet us with a smile, showing us the camp layout and facilities. He was always around to answer questions and help with local details. The toilets and showers were first class and well maintained. The site is well placed for the bus stop, just at the end of the lane.

Disliked Room for improvement would be Wi-Fi and a bigger area for a dog exercise area

Liked From the start to the finish of our stay all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The shower block was always clean and fresh smelling, the entertainment facilities were clean and well run. Everywhere was dog friendly. The bus stop is right outside the site entrance and ran every 20 mins in both directions. The nearest beach was a lovely walk through a woodland area (about 40 mins) great for the dog.

Disliked Our pitch was not very level but the view made up for this. There was a charge for Wi-Fi

Liked Friendly staff, good clean shower and service block. We had a great stay and enjoyed the entertainment in the bar which did not go on too late. Easy walk into Brixham and to Berry Head.

Liked We received a very warm welcome from the team, and clear instructions to our pitch. The shower/toilet block was excellent and cleaned and well maintained. The bar and food was basic but very enjoyable. The on site shop was well stocked even though it was the end of season. The location was great and we enjoyed a couple of walks along the coastal path. Every one on site was dog friendly.
