As you'd expect from a site with such a name, there's a whole lot of space in which to relax and explore at 5 Acres, a large grassy site on the edge of the Somerset Levels. Kids and dogs are both welcome on site here, and there's plenty of scope for them to run about and play games safely away from barbecues and campfires (which are also permitted to keep you warm and fed in the evenings). Facilities on site include firepits, a toilet and shower block and outdoor sinks with mains water. The surrounding Somerset Levels aren’t just out in the sticks – they also produce them. Willow cane has been cultivated the traditional way in this part of the county for hundreds of years and can be seen growing within a mile of 5 Acres. the Levels are also a wildlife haven, making them an all-round top choice for country walks along the many trails nearby. If wild swimming is something you're always keen to do, good news on that front too. 5 Acres is just a 10-minute drive away from the river in Langport, which is popular for both wild swimming and kayaking. And while this may be a rural retreat, it's also one that's easy to get to as it's just off the A378 (no winding country lanes to negotiate for this one…). Taunton town centre, with its wide range of shops and supermarkets, is a 15-minute drive away. The closest pub and coffee shop are five minutes away by road.

  • No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

  • Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.
  • This is a quiet site: no music is allowed.

Dogs

  • The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.
  • Van conversions must have a valid gas safety certificate and Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) test. In addition to the dog breeds listed above, the site also does not accept Husky or German Shepherd breeds/crossbreeds.

Liked We liked everything, made camping so much more enjoyable. The private premium bathroom and kitchen was amazing, with Flushing Loo.
The kitchen area was super had everything that you could possibly need.
Lots of space to store belongings and an additional space to dress after showering was a bonus.

The enclosed pitch itself was massive, with lovely positioned trees for additional shade and privacy, very well thought out.

The hosts were very welcoming and friendly.

Good location, with easy access to local amenities, 40mins to Lyme Regis which was beautiful.

Disliked Not staying longer!

Liked The site is very quiet. Not too far from local supermarkets, shops and local town.

Disliked Toilet block could have done with being cleaned more regularly. Often points in the weekend where there were no toilet rolls in any of the 3 toilets.

Liked The toilets, showers and the sink on the pitch were clean, quirky and fab! The fence was tall enough that my big dogs could be off the lead and run around, hosts were kind 😊

Liked The site was quiet,. The facilities were clean; there was lots of space in which to exercise the dog. The managers were very flexible when we asked to amend our booking. It was a convenient stop-over when travelling along M5.

Liked This is a beautiful campsite. The private kitchen and bathroom were Spotless, and made camping with our anxious dog so much easier.

The completely enclosed private space is huge and gave my dog, and daughter so much room to play in.

There is also access to some beautiful local walks.

As soon as the booking opens for next year, we will be coming back.

Liked Great site 😃 perfect for us and our little dog.
Good size pitches.
Fire pit on each pitch although due to heatwave we couldn't use but still a nice touch.
Easy location
Clean loos and showers in a quirky lorry.
