What customers say
A tranquil, "wild-ish" getaway at Sweet Hill Farm. Enjoy sea views, coastal walks, and friendly staff. Spacious pitches and a great farm vibe are a bonus, but portaloos are basic. Worth a visit, many want to return.

From the manager: Hello Jane
Thank you so much for this lovely review! We're delighted to hear the journey to us was straightforward; we know that getting to a campsite without any stressful narrow lanes makes such a difference to the start of a trip. It's also wonderful to hear you enjoyed the peace and quiet, the walks and that our team made you feel so welcome on arrival.
We hope to see you back at Sweet Hill Farm again very soon!

Liked Location, simplicity of booking and checking in, lovely showers, great café, spacious pitches, ample portaloo’s, superb views, nice people, great wildlife and birds, farm vibe, not overcrowded, peaceful.
Disliked The toilets can get a bit smelly when busy, but they are cleaned regularly.

From the manager: Hey Paul
What a wonderful review, thank you so much. We're so pleased that so many aspects of Sweet Hill Farm hit the mark for you; from the booking process right through to checking in, the showers, the café, the views and the wildlife. It's lovely to know that the experience felt just as we'd hope.
We appreciate your honest and fair comments about the toilets. Portaloos during busy periods can of course present a challenge, and whilst our team clean them regularly throughout the day, we completely understand that on particularly busy spells they may not always be at their best. It's something we continue to monitor closely and take seriously, in the future we will have a permanent toilet block.
Thank you again for such a generous review and for taking the time to share your experience so fully.
We very much hope to welcome you back to Sweet Hill Farm again :)

Liked loved the whole area. Peace and quiet and getting back to nature. showers were fab and the little cafe was great as were the staff . we will be back.
Disliked The toilets were at times a bit smelly but mostly they were ok. Definately need to bring own loo roll just in case.

From the manager: Thank you so much for this review, we're absolutely delighted to hear you'll be back!
It's so lovely to know you were able to switch off, embrace the peace and quiet and enjoy everything the natural surroundings have to offer, that sense of getting back to nature is exactly what Sweet Hill Farm is all about. We're also thrilled to hear the showers, the café and our team all made such a positive impression. We'll be sure to pass your kind words on to everyone :)
Thank you for your honest and fair feedback on the toilets. Portable facilities during busier periods can occasionally present a challenge with odour, and whilst our team clean and check them regularly throughout the day, we completely understand it isn't always perfect. Your tip about bringing loo roll is a great one and well worth mentioning, we tend to top up the toilet rolls in the mornings and during the afternoon clean, however, we'd always recommend guests pack their own just in case.
We very much look forward to welcoming you back to Sweet Hill Farm, see you soon!

From the manager: Hello Deborah,
What a lovely review, thank you so much! We're absolutely thrilled to hear you'd stay again :)
We're so pleased the site ticked so many boxes for you; the views, the space and the walks right on the doorstep.
Thank you also for your understanding regarding the toilet emptying facilities. We appreciate that it isn't something we're currently able to offer on site, and we're glad this was communicated clearly in advance so it didn't come as a surprise during your stay.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Sweet Hill Farm, see you next time!

Thank you so much for this review, we're so pleased you were able to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy everything the site has to offer. That relaxed, laid back feel is something we're very passionate about at Sweet Hill Farm, so it's wonderful to hear it came through so naturally during your stay.
Glad you enjoyed the café, it means a great deal! We'll be sure to pass your kind words on to the team.

Great little stay, excellent site
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked I have stayed at Sweet Hill Farm on three occasions now; it is a great camp and motorhome site, with simple but ample facilities for fuss free semi wild camping. The shower block and showers are cleaned daily and take a pound coin for a three minute shower. The cafe offers nice fresh bean coffee and teas, plus breakfast rolls and cakes. All of the camping fields are spacious and the site is perfectly located for nearby cliff rock climbing, fishing and walking around the cheyne section and east weares. Portland Bill lighthouse is visible from the site and withing easy walking distance.
Disliked The only let down is the toilet blocks, which can get a bit blocked and smelly when the site is busy. But, they are cleaned out daily.

From the manager: Hey Paul,
Thank you so very much for this detailed and generous review :) What a compliment it is to know this is your third stay with us at Sweet Hill Farm! Your continued loyalty means the world to us all and we couldn't be more grateful.
It's nice to hear you've been able to make the most of everything the site and surrounding area has to offer; from the climbing and fishing to the walks around Cheyne and East Weares. And Portland Bill visible right from the site never gets old, does it! We're also delighted to hear the showers, the fields and the café have all consistently hit the mark across your visits as maintaining those standards time and time again is something we take great pride in.
Thank you also for your honest and fair comments about the toilet facilities. We completely understand that during busier periods they can present a challenge, and whilst our team work hard to clean and maintain them daily, we know they don't always meet the standard we'd ideally like. It's something we continue to look at closely as the site grows and we're grateful for your patience and understanding. In the future we will have a permanent toilet block much like the shower block to make the experience better for campers.
We very much hope to welcome you back for a fourth as it's always a pleasure having you with us at Sweet Hill Farm

Liked Horses - Cafe - Perfect location for Climbing
Disliked Portaloos - £1 for a quick shower
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you, we're really glad the location worked so well for your climbing and that the café and our horses made a good impression! They're all very much part of what makes Sweet Hill Farm feel like a special place, and it's lovely to hear they were enjoyed.
We appreciate your honest feedback on the portaloos and the showers. We do our very best to keep the portable facilities clean and well-maintained throughout the day and we understand they aren't to everyone's taste. It's something we continue to look at as the site develops. Regarding the showers, the small charge helps us to maintain the hot water and upkeep of the shower block, and we hope the quality of the facilities themselves made it worthwhile.
We hope to see you back at Sweet Hill Farm again, perhaps after another day on the cliffs :)
