Syntes ikke om I was expecting compost toilets so was happy when I saw portaloo’s until I went inside. Absolutely disgusting, compost toilets would have been so much better. I don’t know if they clean them or didn’t top them up with water but everyone had xxxx up the bowls. So disgusted we ended up leaving early. Luckily for us we are only in Weymouth but for some people who were there for a holiday… you poor things!
I did try and call the office to tell them how revolting they were but it went a “full up voice mail” certainly won’t be recommending or returning.

Syntes om Another great stay at Sweet Hill Farm, i'm starting to lose count, but i'm sure it's at least five visits now. The site never disappoints, they always put me in my favourite field (sweet hill pasture) and being a bit of a creature of habit, i always seem to pitch in the same spot. The site seems to attract people of a similar ilk, who love the peace and tranquility and subsequently there is never any bother from noisy campers. Even the odd groups who bring along a guitar for a sing song, are very respectful of other campers and it is nice to be serenaded before dozing off, lol. I enjoy my time camping here when i'm down fishing the local marks. Hopefully i'll be back again before the weather turns.

Syntes om Very clean campsite for the sheer size of it! Lovely vibes with live music and a cafe.

Syntes ikke om The pitches were very difficult to figure out where each tent/van should be. Everyone felt like they were on top of each other. Maybe some marked pitches might be a good idea

We're so pleased the views, showers and relaxed atmosphere made such a positive impression. That laid back, unhurried vibe is something we're really passionate about here and it's always wonderful to hear it resonates with our guests.

We appreciate your honest feedback on the portaloos. We do our very best to keep them clean and well maintained throughout the day and we understand they aren't to everyone's taste, it's something we continue to look at as the site grows and develops.

We completely understand your feedback on the portaloos and we're grateful for your patience. We're pleased to share that we are currently awaiting planning permission for a permanent toilet block on site, which we're very much hoping will be approved and in place for guests to enjoy in the not too distant future. In the meantime our team continue to clean and maintain the portable facilities as regularly as possible throughout the day.

We very much hope you'll come back and visit the campsite again.

Syntes om Lovely chilled-out campsite in a beautiful spot.
Great cafe for breakfast, drinks and really enjoyed the Saturday night paella/ music.
I stayed in Sweet Hill Pasture field which had a lovely view of Portland Bill lighthouse. Flat pitch (but exposed when the wind picked up).
Easy check-in, friendly staff.
Excellent value.

Syntes ikke om As others have commented, portaloos aren't ideal but they were in a perfectly acceptable state considering it was a busy summer holiday weekend.
Sinks and cold water taps in the field.
Lots of people arrived later on Saturday evening and pitched up very close to us so it became a little cramped. As I was in a camper van they hadn't really appreciated that we would have liked a little space allowed for our table and chair!

We're also thrilled to hear you enjoyed the café, the Saturday evening paella and music. Those evenings are something we put a lot of love into and it's always wonderful to hear guests enjoy them as much as we do. We'll be sure to pass your kind words on to the team.

Thank you for your generous and fair comments about the portaloos, we completely appreciate they aren't everyone's preference, and we're glad they were in an acceptable state despite it being such a busy weekend. We continue to monitor and maintain them as regularly as we possibly can.

Regarding spacing between pitches, this is something we're very mindful of and we're sorry that late arrivals on the Saturday evening left you feeling a little cramped. As our fields are open rather than marked pitches, it can be a challenge to manage spacing during busier periods, particularly for campervans where a little extra room makes such a difference. It's really helpful feedback and something we'll continue to work on with our team to ensure everyone has the space to enjoy their stay comfortably.

Syntes om Flat field. No frills. Lovely view of the sea and the top of Portland bill lighthouse.
There were families playing cricket when we arrived so a lovely friendly feel.
The cafe on site is a real bonus.

Syntes ikke om Nothing. Although the approach to the girls with construction materials and mounds of earth isn’t the prettiest, it didn’t matter to us.
I didn’t visit the portaloos as I chose to use my loo in the van. My husband said there were no lights in the loos, so we would recommend this is added to avoid dropping a torch or phone down the portaloo!
We also didn’t shower, partly as there was a cost. I think showers should be included in the camping rates, as it was slightly expensive for a basic field with a portaloo but I’m sure you are paying for the great location.

Thank you for the very practical suggestion regarding lighting in the portaloos, it's a brilliant point and we'll certainly be looking into this as we wait for planning permission to build a permanent toilet block and we're grateful you took the time to flag it.

Regarding the shower charge, we completely understand your perspective and appreciate you raising it so fairly and honestly. The small charge helps us to maintain the hot water and upkeep of the facilities, though we always take feedback on pricing seriously and will continue to review how we can offer the best possible value for our guests.
