  • Peaceful park at a marina in the centre of the Cheshire canal network
  • Set in over 100 acres of countryside 10 minutes' drive from Nantwich
  • Café and picnic areas; access to walks along the towpath
Peaceful and scenic, Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park is a prime destination for anyone who adores the countryside. Based on the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union Canal in Church Minshull, the Cheshire park also has a great set of marina facilities. It's set in 100 acres, so guests can watch the wildlife or take a walk along the towpath. Afterwards, you might fancy a visit to the marina’s licensed café and picnic areas to unwind or rest your feet. If you fancy getting out on the water too, boat hire is available on site. Families, couples, small groups and dogs are all welcome on the site. For activities outside of the park, there are many shops, cafés and pubs in the market town Nantwich, which is a five-mile drive away. There’s also easy access to the M6 and the B5074 in Church Minshull. The amenities at Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park are nice and convenient too: they include well-maintained bathroom facilities with toilets, showers and sinks, as well as accessible features for guests with mobility challenges. The site also has 24-hour laundry facilities.

What customers say

Lochlainn álainn, cothromaithe go maith le háiteanna fairsinge. Mhol custaiméirí na háiseanna, an fhoireann chairdiúil agus an caifé ar an láthair. Suíomh iontach do choisithe, ach bhí cuid acu den tuairim go raibh sé daor agus fada ón lochlainn.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Lovely quiet setting, exceptionally clean toilets and site generally. Level pitches on well maintained grass. Range of walks around the area. Very good value for money. Will definitely come again!

Disliked Not a dislike but a possible future negative…not sure 8 toilet/ shower units would be enough if the site had been fuller!

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked This was my first solo travel with my 9 yr old daughter. This place was perfect, staff arrived to my pitch to switch on electric as soon as I parked up. The cafe was lovely and clean , friendly staff and reasonable prices (I expected it to be a lot dearer). We watched the live music whilst having our tea on the Saturday next to the aqueduct which was lovely. The toilets/showers were nice and clean and well lit at night which was great for a lone female traveller like myself. There was nothing for children (as in entertainment, park etc) but we brought lots of games as i didnt want a big entertainment place, we played on the grass , we had walks, this was about having some peace, spending quality time together. My 9 yr old on return has asked when we can go again 😊

Disliked The only thing I disliked which was out of anyone's control was the wasps. Next time ill take a little citronella candle to keep them away

Bell tent (four person)

Liked The bell tent Was Clean and comfortable and in a lovely setting. Nice open areas for the kids to play and for the adults to sit out.

Very Clean toilets and showers.
Peaceful surroundings, pretty marina, nice countryside.
Friendly staff.
Good location, close to the town centre and a nice local pub.

Disliked The cafe’s opening hours weren’t great 9.30 - 4.30pm
Extended hours of the cafe would have been better e.g 8am - 8pm
It would have been nice to get a coffee after waking, and to have dinner and a drink in the evening overlooking the marina.

I would have preferred it if the shop sold a few more camping supplies
e.g small gas containers, disposable BBQ’s, and sold breakfast items e.g bacon, eggs, sausages, bread.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (premium)

Liked The peaceful environment.

Disliked The new shower blocks need a more regular clean and the plughole kept clear, it's all a learning curve, would still return again

We're glad you enjoyed the peaceful environment and really appreciate your comments about the shower blocks — it's helpful and something we're working on as we continue to improve. Bell tent (four person)

Liked We loved the bell tent, it was really clean and the bed was super comfy, the twinkly lights made it so special. We weren’t on top of our neighbours and it was really clever that the tent entrance was faced away from the other tents. We’ve never stayed in anything like this before but would definitely do it again. The Elvis night was absolutely brilliant and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Location and cafe

Disliked No separate toilet facilities on camp area. New showers are great but showers and toilets together so queue to use toilet first thing in the morning

Bell tent (four person)

Liked The canal was lovely and very peaceful, also the setting of the caf’e.

Disliked The event that was on, meant that there was only food, a limited menu and drinks available till 8pm, also the show went in till after 11.30pm.
Also people staying in the other tent, obviously don’t know how to talk quietly after midnight.
We were not the only ones to mention this.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Mostly flat camping field, didn’t need to level the Campervan at all. Blocks very good, toilet sink and shower in each which was great with hot showers. Only downside to this is if you are only waiting for the loo but it wasn’t too much of a problem. Attended Elvis event which was great!!!

Disliked Cost for non electric grass slightly dear.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for your lovely feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the flat pitches, facilities, and hot showers — and it’s great to hear you had fun at the Elvis event! We appreciate your note on pricing and will keep it in mind. Hope to welcome you back again soon!

Local attractions

Aqueduct Marina and Caravan Park's Cheshire location and easy access from the M6 means it's in a most handy spot to get to heaps of tourist attractions around this part of the north west and Chester. A popular option in the area is Oulton Park, the racing track in the little village of Budworth that bills itself as the most picturesque track in all the land, or you could hike around the wilds of nearby Delamere Forest, or stick to lazy days and potter around small Cheshire villages like Tattenhall and Tarporley. Chester is also easily accessible from the caravan park and has heaps to see among its old streets and swish shops. Animal fans make their way to Chester Zoo on the outskirts of the city to see as many as possible of its 12,000+ animals and over 400 species; if nature is your animalish thing, also get along to the Blue Planet Aquarium and its 100 or so living displays including the biggest school of sharks in Europe. Green fingered? Clear the car boot and drive over to Bridgemere, one of the biggest garden centres in the world and with all things gardenlike as well as toys and clothes in its mammoth shopping centre.
