  • Well-maintained Norfolk site one mile from the Sandringham Estate
  • Within 10 minutes' drive of Hunstanton and Heacham beaches
  • Bar, adventure playground, dog-walking area and bicycle hire
Have you ever been to the Norfolk coast? Come and stay at Pine Cones Caravan and Camping, a mile from Sandringham Estate and a 10-minute drive from the beaches in Heacham and Hunstanton. At this well-maintained site, the staff aim to go out of their way to make sure that everyone's comfortable. There's something for everyone; kids tend to love the open space – teams can often be seen laughing over a game of football or other games – and spending hours on the play equipment. Meanwhile, all ages can unwind at the all-weather bar and terrace at Bens Bar, which is open at peak times for snacks, draught beer and other delicious drinks; live sports are also shown here. Dogs (up to two per booking) are very welcome and even get access to their own dedicated off-lead walking area and warm dog wash. Other on-site facilities include luxury individual bathrooms (each with a toilet, sink and shower), electric vehicle charging points and gas bottle sales. Takeaway food is served on site during peak times. At other times, simply stroll along to the two dog-friendly village pubs within walking distance. There are plenty of excellent walks and cycling paths from the site, with the Sandringham Visitor Centre only 20 minutes' walk away; hire a bicycle on site to get around quicker. Bus stops are nearby in Dersingham.

Pine Views fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Pitches are clean and tidy and fully serviced is very handy. Toilet block clean and individual cubicles are nice and private.

Disliked It's very close proximity to a VERY main road, so not as peaceful as we like. We also felt the pitches are rather close together so in peak season it would be very busy

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We’re pleased to hear you found the pitches clean and tidy, and that the fully serviced pitches were convenient during your stay. It’s also lovely to know you enjoyed the cleanliness and privacy of the individual bathroom facilities.

Thank you as well for your feedback regarding the road noise and pitch spacing. We do make it very clear within our website and booking information that the site is located near a main road. Whilst this does not bother most guests, we completely understand that some people are more sensitive to noise than others. One of the advantages of our location is the easy access to the site, with no difficult narrow lanes for guests to navigate.

Our pitches are laid out exactly as described and are separated by hedges, which many guests really enjoy for the added privacy and definition between pitches.

We appreciate your comments and thank you again for staying with us.

Pine Views fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Well spaced and looked after pitches. Very clean & tidy site, excellent staff. Ideally placed for walks to nearby places of interest and food / drink. Good WiFi coverage.

Disliked It's a shame this site is right on the Dersingham by pass, which causes a bit of road noise. Saying that, you soo get used to it and wasn't really a reason for not returning.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed our spacious and well-maintained pitches, clean facilities, friendly staff, and convenient location for local walks, food, and drink options. It’s also great to know the WiFi coverage met your expectations.

We do appreciate your comments regarding the road noise from the bypass. While this is something beyond our control, we’re pleased to hear it didn’t impact your overall stay and that you would consider returning. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future.

Liked Very well kept site all staff so friendly , toilets and showers are spotless and lovely and warm, Ben’s bar is an excellent addition as is the onsite food takeaway

Disliked This time we had children playing and screaming till 22:30 and they started again at 06:15 in the morning , although you could say It was down to the parents, It could have been policed better by staff, we decided to get up and pack away early and left the site by 08:30

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely feedback. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the cleanliness of the site, the warm shower facilities, and the friendly atmosphere from our team. It’s also great to know you enjoyed Ben’s Bar and the onsite takeaway.

We are very sorry to hear that noise from other guests affected your stay, particularly late in the evening and early in the morning. We do carry out evening walk-rounds to ensure noise levels are in line with our site rules, however we appreciate your comments and will continue to monitor this closely to help ensure all guests can enjoy a peaceful stay.

Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Liked Just returned from a three day stay at Pinecones, got to say what a beautiful site. Well maintained, clean, friendly staff and my goodness what beautiful surroundings. Nature walks nearby are lovely, lots of animals, hare, muntjack deer, greylag geese. At 5am (yes, early riser) there were even some fallow deer walking through the camp. Particularly like the quiet times.

Disliked The detractors from my stay is by no means a fault of Pinecones, I'm a very light sleeper and there is a busy road right next to site.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your wonderful review. We’re so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Pinecones and appreciated the cleanliness of the site, our friendly team, and the beautiful surroundings.

It sounds like you made the most of the local nature walks and wildlife spotting — seeing hare, muntjac deer, greylag geese, and even fallow deer walking through the campsite is certainly something special. We’re also delighted to hear that the quiet times added to the relaxing atmosphere of your stay.

Thank you again for your lovely comments, and we hope to welcome you back for another peaceful stay soon.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch (large)

Liked Pitches were well laid out with bench. Clear instructions given prior to arrival on pitch.
Level pitches

Disliked Limited and unisex toilet/shower facilities.
Difficult access at weekends when more tents were on site.

Electric car point difficult to connect staff helpful in refunding charge.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We’re pleased to hear you found the pitches well laid out and level, and that the pre-arrival instructions helped make your arrival straightforward.

Thank you also for your feedback regarding the facilities and EV charging point. We did have a faulty socket on one of the electric car charging points during your stay, however this has since been repaired by our engineer. We’re glad our team were able to assist and arrange the refund for you.

Whilst it is very unusual for guests to have to wait for one of the private bathroom facilities, especially as we have multiple units onsite, we do understand your comments during a particularly busy weekend and appreciate the feedback.

Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Liked Nothing to like when completely let down by Pitchup and this site!

Disliked I would have given 0 stars but this is not an option.
We didn’t actually manage to stay on the site as there was no communication from the campsite to confirm that they were expecting us, like most, if not all other sites do - not even a phone call to say ‘Where are you? We are expecting you but you haven’t arrived.’ either on the day or the day after.
Obviously, they have taken the full amount of money (£217) and therefore, they are not out of pocket, but we are and will never stay with this site in the future.

Local attractions

Beaches, historic houses, museums and festivals, tiny villages, market towns and fab family days out are all easily accessible from Pine Cones Caravan and Camping. Within a couple of miles, the deer safaris, farming activities and walking trails of Snettisham Deer Park and the sights and smells of Norfolk Lavender are both good options for a day out; Snettisham has an RSPB reserve too for those itching to twitch. But as you're probably in west/north Norfolk for the beaches, head to Heacham, Holkham and Hunstanton first, the closest sands to Pine Cones, and then take a trip to Brancaster, 11 miles away; the family-friendly and very scenic sands of Sheringham, Cromer and Mundsley are a little further along the coast. (Also, the final scenes of Shakespeare in Love were filmed at Holkham, and all the beaches in these parts are fairly filmworthy, so bring your camera.) Other excellent options for days out include village hopping and shopping among the scenic sights of Dersingham, Holt, Fakenham, Aylsham and Burnham Market to pick up some local produce, or going along to one of Norfolk's festivals or events: there's usually something going on throughout the year. Pine Cones is also on the edge of the Norfolk Coast National Landscape – bring walking boots, crabbing nets and plenty of room for picnics.
