Have you ever been to the Norfolk coast? Come and stay at Pine Cones Caravan and Camping, a mile from Sandringham Estate and a 10-minute drive from the beaches in Heacham and Hunstanton. At this well-maintained site, the staff aim to go out of their way to make sure that everyone's comfortable. There's something for everyone; kids tend to love the open space – teams can often be seen laughing over a game of football or other games – and spending hours on the play equipment. Meanwhile, all ages can unwind at the all-weather bar and terrace at Bens Bar, which is open at peak times for snacks, draught beer and other delicious drinks; live sports are also shown here. Dogs (up to two per booking) are very welcome and even get access to their own dedicated off-lead walking area and warm dog wash. Other on-site facilities include luxury individual bathrooms (each with a toilet, sink and shower), electric vehicle charging points and gas bottle sales. Takeaway food is served on site during peak times. At other times, simply stroll along to the two dog-friendly village pubs within walking distance. There are plenty of excellent walks and cycling paths from the site, with the Sandringham Visitor Centre only 20 minutes' walk away; hire a bicycle on site to get around quicker. Bus stops are nearby in Dersingham.

  • The campground/park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dog Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

  • A cable measuring at least 15 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
  • The maximum tent size allowed is 5m x 6m. Electric is operated by a fair usage policy, through a smart meter system. Pricing is dependent on the time of year, This is between 8 & 12 KWh's per day. The electricity is charged at .22p per kw. They get their free usage per day and if they go over then they are charged and monies taken automatically at the end of their stay.

Liked Lovely place very near to Sandringham site, BUT good WiFi,,,no extra cost, good phone signal, good tv signal. In Sandringham site, pay for WiFi, no tv, no phone signal. We will return. Very friendly staff. 10 mins from beach.

Liked Super site, huge fully serviced pitches with a covered seating area and picnic table and a small patch of grass too.
Excellent shower and wash facilities, really modern and kept spotless, lovely staff and very informative, the site is laid out so well and you can see how much they have done and are continuing to do, even the fact that all the fencing is natural and separates each van and each row of vans has a natural woven fence for greater privacy 😀 very clean and tidy, immaculate.

Disliked The only downside is road noise but they tell you this before you book so its up to you to decide if the excellent location for getting around the coast is worth it and to us it definitely was.

Liked Delighted with the showers - far superior to other campsites I’ve stayed on!
The owners were really likeable, friendly and welcoming.

Disliked Would be great if there were phone charging points available in prime areas - such as the bar, or washing up area. Annoying not having anywhere to charge phone!
Whilst I understand the rationale for implementing a fair use policy on electric pitches, the allowance could be a little more generous.

Liked All staff were friendly, loved the bar and food, shower rooms were always clean, the site was always clean and tidy.

Disliked The play area could be made bigger as there were a lot of children but not a lot for them to do.
We enjoy doing a campfire and toasting marshmallows but this wasn’t allowed

Liked Fantastic site! We returned for the first time since 2024 and were thrilled to find Ben's Bar and Cinema is now open. There is a brilliant atmosphere and the bar itself is reasonably priced.

When we first visited in 2024 the reception hours weren't great (completely our fault), so it was lovely to see the opening hours longer and the electric now 'self serve' instead of needing the staff to manually do it. 10/10 service!

The location is fantastic for heading further into Norfolk - simply walk through the Kissing Gate and across the main road then follow the river into Dersingham and jump on the 34/35/36. We caught the 36 and a return ticket all the way to Wells Next The Sea was £10 each.

The showers were consistently hot and kept spotless throughout. We never had to queue, and there were plenty of signs for extra toilets/showers across the site.

Quiet time is from just after 9pm which everyone on site respected - no one was overly loud at any time so the peaceful site was perfect.

Disliked Nothing - 10/10

Local attractions

Beaches, historic houses, museums and festivals, tiny villages, market towns and fab family days out are all easily accessible from Pine Cones Caravan and Camping. Within a couple of miles, the deer safaris, farming activities and walking trails of Snettisham Deer Park and the sights and smells of Norfolk Lavender are both good options for a day out; Snettisham has an RSPB reserve too for those itching to twitch. But as you're probably in west/north Norfolk for the beaches, head to Heacham, Holkham and Hunstanton first, the closest sands to Pine Cones, and then take a trip to Brancaster, 11 miles away; the family-friendly and very scenic sands of Sheringham, Cromer and Mundsley are a little further along the coast. (Also, the final scenes of Shakespeare in Love were filmed at Holkham, and all the beaches in these parts are fairly filmworthy, so bring your camera.) Other excellent options for days out include village hopping and shopping among the scenic sights of Dersingham, Holt, Fakenham, Aylsham and Burnham Market to pick up some local produce, or going along to one of Norfolk's festivals or events: there's usually something going on throughout the year. Pine Cones is also on the edge of the Norfolk Coast National Landscape – bring walking boots, crabbing nets and plenty of room for picnics.
