Domaine d'Arnauteille

Positiv Lovely site- we arrived for an overnighter on a very rainy, stormy night so limited in what we could use. Pool facilities looked great and lots of pitches seem to have great views. We were able to use restaurant as couldn’t cook outdoors food was very good.

Positiv Pitches were private.
Shower block was huge and really good.

Negativ Pitch was on the other side of a steep hill to all the facilities which wasn’t ideal in the summer heat.

Positiv Facilities are excellent. Clean showers and toilets, set against a Greek looking mosaic.
The pools are plenty and all different.

Negativ The campsite is on the side of a mountain/hill...so plenty of steep walking.
The shop was poorly stocked and not much variation.
The entertainment was LOUD which was really inappropriate at the time of night. Not suitable if you have younger children at all.

Negativ Quite a bit. We were sold this place by the write up on Pitchup and its reviews. The reality for us was nothing like that.
We arrived shortly after midday on a Sunday after a 3 - 4 hour drive. We were told that the restaurant was closed (along with the shop until 5pm). So we opted for a snack by the pool. Only 1 person operating so it took 25 minutes to be served and another 25 minutes to have aour snack. All farcical.
We had little option to go out and eat in the evening (quite a distance by car). Given that we had chosen this venue for their offer of restaurant on site, this was hugely disappointing.
The next morning, we enquired by talking to various people as to whether the restaurant would be open as it was peak season. We also had to plan our day. We received inconsistent and unprofessional responses from various members of staff. We asked to speak to the manager so we could clarify the situation and express our frustrations.
The conversation with her did not go well. Lots of excuses and blaming of other people and not taking proactive responsibility for not providing what was being promised on the website but not being delivered. She could even say with certainty that the rest of the day would not be the same as the previous day.
More worryingly, our private discussion was gatecrashed by a man (presumably her husband) who was very aggressive in his language and pointing of fingers. He was later rude to us again quietly muttering offensive words under his breath. All very unprofessional

The manager offer us a refund. Sadly only for the unused day that we had paid for, and not for the inadequacy of the day before. Nevertheless, we gladly accepted and left.
This did not sliver what it promised. It did not make the information clear to us. The staff did not come across as harmonious behind the leadership of the site.
You have to question why such a beautiful looking site is barely half full at peak summer season.

Positiv The staff was very accommodating and considerate. The property was well maintained and a glorious pool on a hot summer day. Clean amenities!

Positiv Brilliant camp site, warm water for showers and taps for sinks etc. great cleaning facilities. Lovely area. Great sized pitches. Pools were excellent

Negativ Shower heads are a bit useless. Did the job but a fine spray isn't that useful
