Positiv Great views over Newport Sands. Short walk into Newport village. Owner is very friendly.

Negativ Pitches are very sloped, much more than levelling ramps can compensate for. Facilities could use some TLC to say the least. No hot water for washing up. Very expensive for what you get.

Vom Platzbetreiber: Thank you for your review. We’re sorry you felt disappointed with your stay. This is our first season running the campsite and we’re fully aware that the toilet and facilities block needs some TLC — improvements are already something we’re looking at for the future.

We do feel the comments regarding the slope are a little unfair. We regularly accommodate motorhomes and campervans of various sizes, including a 9-metre motorhome on the upper pitches, without any issues levelling.

We were also disappointed that none of these concerns were mentioned to us during your stay. We spoke with you in person after your first night, which would have given us the opportunity to help, move you to another pitch if necessary, or address anything you were unhappy with.

We’re always happy to receive constructive feedback and will continue improving the site as we grow, but we would always encourage guests to speak to us while they’re here so we have the chance to put things right.

Positiv We had an amazing time, the view was fantastic, and it's a lovely place to camp. We will be back for sure. Our 2-year-old loved running in the field and enjoying nature. Jo, the host, was so helpful and friendly. Thank you so much for everything.

Positiv The view was amazing and the pitches were clean and tidy as well as the washing up area and the bin area. Very clean and there were almost no issues.

Positiv Clean and tidy. Spacious pitches. Beautiful scenic views. Owner of the pitch was lovely and helpful on phone on arrival and even came to check in after our arrival. Looking forward to visiting again.

Positiv Great location with an amazing coastline view from the top of the camping field. Just a 10 minute walk into the village of Newport and a short drive from a choice of local beaches and the beautiful Gwaun Valley.
A lovely farm site with simple but clean facilities, super hot showers and a handy washing up area.
Jo, the owner, was extremely helpful and friendly, replying to messages and enquiries very quickly. We initially booked for two nights but stayed for an extra night as we enjoyed it so much.
We look forward to returning to Penfeidr campsite in the future and introducing it to our camping friends.

Positiv The welcome from the owner (Joanna) and the views were both stunning. A great location walking distance to the beach and Newport with it's pubs, cafes and little shops.

Negativ The showers were not the best we've experienced, but this was related to the water pressure being low, caused by the drought conditions. Joanna investigated this as soon as we mentioned it, and although she could not fix it, immediately put up signage to explain the issue. We felt welcomed and well looked after.
