Grasbewachsener Zelt- oder Wohnmobil-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Absolutely loved this site relaxed atmosphere. We chose it for our first off grid experience in our new van and it didn’t disappoint. Loved the fact they had slabs for bbqs extremely helpful, and still had some basic facilities which was great. Also loved the relaxed atmosphere for timings. We hate it when you’ve got to pack up and leave straight away.
Was very quiet in the best way. If it stays the same price we will definitely be back as don’t like to pay too much for a more wild camping experience like this.
Negativ Didn’t dislike anything anything at all - but ground was hilly so did take a little work to get level which was fine,

Grasbewachsener Zelt- oder Wohnmobil-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv As soon as we arrived on the island, we started looking for a campsite. We were surprised to find that many places required booking at least a day in advance and had a minimum stay of two nights. Fortunately, this campsite had no such restrictions, which was an immediate plus for its simple and hassle-free check-in.
There are tall trees surrounding the site, providing plenty of natural shade from early morning until the evening. Although the campsite may look similar to many others, it has its own unique charm and cozy atmosphere.
We have nothing but great memories from our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Grasbewachsener Zelt- oder Wohnmobil-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Location, shower nice and hot, clean toilets, very basic but worth £20 per night.
Negativ It's on a fair slope.
No secure, gate open to anybody, a code on the gate would help

Fantastic back to basics campsite, with all essential amenities.
Grasbewachsener Zelt- oder Wohnmobil-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Loved the peace and quiet of this campsite and the relaxed and trusting atmosphere.
It is centrally located in a really great part of the island with good access to all major attractions not too far away.
Being able to pitch where you like is an added bonus and experienced campers may find it nicer to pitch nearer to the washing up area of the field away from the noises of the road!
A great place to destress!
The owner was very diligent in her cleaning routine in the mornings and everything was clean and spotless both in the toilets, sink area and shower.
Always plenty of toilet paper and hand sanitiser.
The owner was very friendly and approachable.
I liked the fact that we could arrive and leave when we wanted which to me is the biggest thing that I liked as it allowed us to take the tent down in the sun and not the rain!
So much more relaxed is fantastic, thank you so much for a great time at your site.
Negativ It can be very windy and there were no windbreaks in the field to help with this.
I don't dislike this too much, but it is worth pointing out to the owners that if they want to allow campers all year it might be something to consider.
I had to park my car across the side of the tent to help with this as we were using gas cookers outside and needed the windbreak. As an experienced camper I am not going to moan about this as I take everything in my stride, but for a novice camper it might be frustrating or a worry.
I think they might need some pick up your litter signs on the fences as previous campers had left things like can ring pulls and bottle lids in the grass which might be a danger to the animals!
And finally, if you are a camper and thinking of coming to this campsite please be respectful of the animals and take your litter home!

Excellent site.
Grasbewachsener Zelt- oder Wohnmobil-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv The views on this site were stunning. Toilets were clean and well serviced with plenty of loo roll. The shower was lovely - clean, spacious and plenty of hot water with good pressure. The position was great for exploring, with the villages of Brighstone and Shorwell nearby, both beautiful, both with excellent village pubs - very friendly (the 3 Bishops in Brighstone was exceptionally dog friendly) and both were reasonably priced. The village shop in Brighstone is a treasure trove, with everything you could need. The site is on a slight slope, however there are flatter areas at the top and bottom of the field and we always address a slope by pitching so that we are sleeping top to bottom which we find perfectly comfy. We loved it here!
Negativ Absolutely nothing.

Avoid booking.
Grasbewachsener Wohnwagen-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Well cut grass… and the late check in option, err not sure what else to say?! Good for stargazing as no light pollution??
Negativ One, cold shower available. Dirty portaloos (only two on site). No hot water available anywhere on site, including the washing up sink. Sloping site so glad we didn’t go with the children and a tent too. Inadequate bins provided. No warden or owners on site. When we stayed there was another van on site that kept starting their engine at gone midnight and shining their headlights across the field.
This site classes itself as ‘relaxed’ and ‘rustic’, however this is just another way of saying ‘don’t care’ and ‘get on with it’. Not once in the 24 hours we were there did we see anyone at all connected to owning or operating the site.
I would be extremely disappointed if I had booked a bell tent to stay here when there is one cold shower and two portaloos.
Thankfully we were in our van and bought our own toilet and could manage one night with no shower.
This is clearly a farmer or family taking advantage of tourism on the island but providing sub par facilities. We paid the same for a stay in Hampshire the night before and it had far better facilities, was in walking distance of a lovely village with safe footpaths and a warden on site.
If you're a campervan, find a lay-by and save yourself paying £20 for a sloping field with no facilities. If you’re a camper with a tent spend the same/not much more and find a different site with decent facilities. As experienced campers (tents) and camper vanners we are just relieved we only booked this as a one night stop over and didn’t have our children with us. Any longer and we would have been requesting a refund and booking elsewhere.
Lovely to see bags of rubbish just piled up around the two plastic dustbins (not even the size of a wheelie bin) on our way out today.
Worth £10 a night at most for a safe spot off the road in a self contained van. Should not be advertised a campsite as it clearly is not run as one or cared about.
Also disturbed in early hours of the morning by someone randomly driving onto, around and back out of the site.
No local amenities within safe walking distance ie on a footpath. ‘Campsite’ is alongside a main road.

Location was nice and remote, clean…
Grasbewachsener Wohnwagen-Stellplatz ohne Stromanschluss
Positiv Location was nice and remote, clean
Negativ Noisy because next to road and some sort of refinery.
Whole site is basically on a hill, so almost no where is level.
Shower didn't work at all. Just cold running water.
Toilets had no toilet roll, and the cleanliness and smell was something else.
Myself and my daughter 7 years old need a shower from being down the beach, we couldn't. Very disappointed 😞
