Some places leave a mark on your heart. This weekend, I found one of those places.

The moment I arrived at Lilling Hall Farm, something shifted. The peace, the beauty, the energy that surrounds this place is unlike anything I have experienced before. Words struggle to capture it because it is something that must be felt.

From the magnificent ancient trees standing watch over the land, to the endless skies, open fields, and the feeling of complete stillness, every corner radiates love, warmth, and light. There is a sense of sanctuary here that reaches deep into your soul.

This place didn't just welcome me; it called to me. It felt familiar, comforting, and somehow like coming home. The energy here wrapped around me and left an imprint on my heart that I know will stay forever.

The owners have created something truly special. Not just a beautiful place to stay, but a space where people can breathe, reconnect, heal, and simply be. Their kindness and care can be felt in every detail.

One night simply isn't enough. The longer you stay, the more you understand why people never want to leave. Lilling Hall Farm isn't just somewhere you visit—it's somewhere that becomes part of you.

Thank you for sharing your little piece of magic with us. I already know this won't be goodbye. This place will keep calling me back.

Positiv Lovely little field nest to a Farm House. There are a lot of facilities considering it is only a field.

Positiv Excellent campsite based within the grounds of a lovely old farmhouse / Working stud farm 🐴 Lynn and Gary ensure you have everything you need! We were able to chose our pitch, they delivered a picnic bench to our van, and sent us home with ice lollies 🍦 due to the record breaking May bank holiday heat 🌞

Positiv Lovely quiet site . Owner super helpful , always checking that everything is ok . Shower/toilet were immaculate. Offered info on things within the local area . Bus route to York( limited at bank hols though) . Will be returning

Positiv Absolutely loved our 2 night stay.
We instantly felt relaxed and comfortable when we arrived.

Lynne was more than welcoming, meeting us as we pulled up.
Gave us lots of information about places to eat and the local amenities in the surrounding villages.
She was so kind and offered us a cup of tea!
The site has such a peaceful atmosphere.
It was really lovely to see the horses in the fields too.


The toilet and shower room was impeccably clean.
The camping field was ideal.with Flat levil pitches. Water on hand and a washing up area.

We had a gorgeous Sunday lunch at the blacksmiths arms. Which is about a half hour stroll away.
Well recommended!

If there is such a thing as a perfect campsite, this is definitely ours. Can't wait to visit again!

Positiv Can't say enough about this place lynne and husband hospitality was second to none took us from and back to the local pub so friendly let us meet there beautiful race horses calm and tranquil will definitely be back thanks again

Positiv Everything about this place is special. The welcome was very warm with a cup of tea and biscuits at our arrival and a tour around the stables to meet their horses.
The farm has been a project of love by the owners and it shows. Some may find the outdoor facilities basic but the shower room was cosy and clean.
It's a very peaceful place and has dark skies for stargazing. We would be happy to stay again.
We also liked the recently reopened Blacksmiths Arms a couple of minutes away by car. (Thanks, Lynne, we'll bring our bikes next time.)

Negativ We found nothing to dislike at this wonderful campsite though just a heads up, the entrance may be a bit tight for large motorhomes.

Positiv Lovely site with very limited number of pitches, all with electric hook up available, which meant it was very peaceful and not over crowded. We stayed for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. Lynne and family were great, very warm and friendly but not obtrusive.
It is in a really peaceful location but not too far from places to visit e.g Castle Howard is only about 20 minute drive from the site. We also visited Scarborough and Whitby which are around 40 minute drive.
Would recommend looking here wether its for a stop over or longer stay.
There is only one shared toilet/shower room which is a minor draw back but it was spotlessly clean and well maintained.
There was also a freezer with ice in for a chilled evening drink after a day of sight seeing.

Positiv Peaceful, quiet with plenty of walks nearby and the owners were very nice and friendly.
