A view? Well, Brayshaw View Glamping & Camping promises that in its name – and boy, does it deliver on that promise. This peaceful site, part of a fourth-generation farm on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border, sits right in that very sweet spot that looks out over the Forest of Bowland on one side and the Yorkshire Dales National Park on the other. All of this means views galore for guests, whether you’re heading out to explore or settling right there on site for a drink, a barbecue evening or a picnic while looking towards the Yorkshire Three Peaks. Being in a fairly remote location, the views don’t even stop at sunset – the dark skies here make for some fabulous stargazing on clear nights. How you choose to spend your days while you’re here is totally up to you – you may like to keep it local, strolling by the stream running through the farm, heading out on trails through nearby Gisburn Forest and stopping in at the local pub (10 minutes' drive/an hour’s walk) for a good meal and a pint of something local. Alternatively, you could use this place as a peaceful base for all sorts of adventures, perhaps climbing Pen-y-ghent, meeting the residents of Bowland Wild Boar Park or going underground at Ingleborough Cave. Back on site after your outings, you’ll have plenty of space to relax, and access to toilets and showers to get you cleaned up.

Dieser Campingplatz bietet atemberaubende Ausblicke und eine ruhige, abgelegene Atmosphäre. Besucher loben die freundlichen Gastgeber und die sauberen, einfachen Einrichtungen, darunter warme Duschen und Spültoiletten. Positiv This site was perfect!!
Really quiet, not over crowded.
You could park anyway and anywhere you wanted to be able to maximise the view. We went with another couple and a child and had all the space we needed. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed toilets, shower block and washing up facilities were at the top of the field, these are well maintained. The owner even came out with delicious cake which was a bonus.

Negativ Nothing to dislike but just a word of caution the road in is very narrow with a few passing places so make sure you’re a good driver and able to reverse. You are in the countryside so it’s what you should expect!!

Positiv Great location, views were amazing.

Negativ A little remote, car journey to the pub or shop if needed, that said with forward planning can overcome the shop issue. Hot water was a little hit and miss in the shower.

Positiv Beautiful location, plenty of space and you can choose where you pitch up. You can have your car with your tent, no need to park somewhere and walk all your stuff over. Flushing toilets, showers and hot water! What more could you need. And dog friendly!

Positiv I stayed at Brayshaw View Campsite for two nights with my teenage son. He wanted to climb Gordale Scar so I looked for a quiet campsite that was relatively close, and which promised great views.

We were not disappointed! The campsite was quiet, peaceful and pretty much perfect. We don't like being around hordes of people and we have very basic needs, so really didn't want to be in a massively commercial place. The site was flat, with plenty of space and the toilets and washing facilities were clean and easily accessible. The bell tents looked nice but we didn't stay in one so I can't really comment on what they were like inside.

There are some lovely walks around the campsite and we went for a wander on day one after pitching up. On day two we had a scenic drive to Malham for our hike, and then back again to peace and tranquility. The only sounds we could hear were from the local wildlife, which was really comforting.

Negativ I can't think of any negatives about Brayshaw View Campsite and I would love to return one day.

Toilets & showers were always clean & plenty of nice toilet roll in them.
Fire pits were great.
Able to buy wood, charcoal & marshmallows on site with a QR which was a really good.
Great for star gazing !

Negativ Maybe need a couple more toilets for when it's busy.

Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe

This farm site is just on the eastern edge of the Forest of Bowland National Landscape, so you may like to start your outings there – perhaps with a walk or bike ride at Gisburn Forest (10 minutes’ drive), a trip across the Whitewell Stepping Stones (25 minutes) or an animal encounter at Bowland Wild Boar Park (35 minutes). Just the other side of the A65, the Yorkshire Dales National Park has a huge number of attractions and activities to try out as well. Intrepid visitors might like to climb Pen-y-ghent (25 minutes), or even complete the full Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge (Ingleborough and Whernside are both within 45 minutes; drive as well). Malham Cove, Janet’s Foss and the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail (all half an hour) are more easygoing alternatives – although not as easy as a relaxing ride on the Settle-Carlisle Railway (15 minutes). Other days out might take you to see stalactites and fossils at Ingleborough Cave (half an hour), to step into the dungeon and medieval kitchen at Skipton Castle (35 minutes) or to meet cute animals at Hesketh Farm Park (45 minutes).
