On the outskirts of the market town of Pickering (five minutes’ drive or a 35-minute walk), Brigham Park Farm is a small, family-friendly site on a working farm. There are many things to commend it, not least its location: staying here puts you within an hour of several North Yorkshire attractions – from North York Moors National Park (five minutes) and the Howardian Hills National Landscaoe (25 minutes), to a stretch of coastline with sandy expanses like Scarborough (35 minutes) and wildlife sanctuaries like RSPB Bempton Cliffs (55 minutes). Having established that there’ll be plenty to keep you and the brood (and the dog, who’s welcome here) occupied, you might be interested to know what’s on site. You’ll be sharing the grounds with assorted livestock, including inquisitive goats, which the children might enjoy feeding (food is available on request). There’s lots of room for children to chase each other and play tag or kick a ball around – but please ensure they keep to the area where there are no pitches. And if you’re concerned about security, it might relieve your worries to know that the premises are secure and gated. Amenities include a modern and well-maintained toilet and shower block and an outdoor area with picnic tables. Each pitch has a drinking water point. Don’t fancy looking after the campfire or the barbecue? The nearest pub (just over a five-minute walk away) runs themed nights, including Curry Thursdays and Fish Fridays, plus a Sunday carvery.

Positiv Amazing campsite ! Clean toilets, showers and all communal areas. My kids had the best time! Feeding the animals, running round the field my nearly 2 year old son spent that much time sat next to the pigs I think he thinks he is one now! The owners are absolutely lovely! Both so helpful and easy to talk too! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Grasbewachsener Campervan- oder Zelt-Stellplatz mit optionalem Stromanschluss

Positiv Lovely location, nice enclosed field. Automatic gates which can only be controlled via mobile phone so kids or dogs can't accidentally stray out. The pitches are well away from the exit too.

Indvidual water hookup right next to the pitch was a bonus, plus the electric hookup.

The pitches are huge - minimum of 10x10 metres, we had a 7.5 x 3m tent plus a porch with bags of room to spare. I love that the middle area is kept clear for playing. The pitches aren't allowed parking but you can drive on and off to pitch up / pack up. Really makes the site look a lot tidier.

Loved having the animals to see and play with. My 2 girls loved the pigs and I was chuffed when the sheep and goats came through.

Showers and toilets were clean, well lit and not too far from the pitches which was very welcome overnight. Also checked and cleaned regularly which I saw a few times.

Very friendly owners too, they pop round to chat with everyone from time to time which is a nice touch.

The recent dry and hot weather unfortunately prevented us from having a fire which can't be helped, the site were adhering to government guidance which is good to see.

This was our first family camping trip and we loved it despite some rain on the last 2 days. We will definitely look to book again

Positiv The animals on the farm, my kids absolutely loved going to see them all day long. Location is lovely, nice and quiet. Secure site so no one can enter.

Negativ The lady who owned it didn’t really take a shine to us. Because we arrived early we had to pay an extra £10 each to get in early. We didn’t realise you had to pay an extra £10 for a pup tent, although the only reason we brought it was so our two youngest could go to the toilet during the night rather than walking across the field to the toilet. The sewerage smell coming from the toilets was absolutely vile! Couldn’t park cars next to the tents while staying there. Vending machine was extremely expensive £2 for a pack of super noodles and £1 for a tiny box of cereal. £1 donation to use the showers. Didn’t hardly see the owners only when she came to complain about something we had brought. Won’t be coming again, as we thought we were being watched all the time everything we did she wasn’t pleased with. Just total greed.

Positiv We loved the site, my daughter had THE best time, looking at the animals, feeding the animals, she made lots of new friends, there was plenty of space for her to play and explore safely.

Negativ There was only 2 toilets, so when the site was busier there was always a queue as some people used them as dressing rooms to get dressed, apply makeup etc which obviously took time.

We also never saw the owners!, There is a number you can text if you need anything though, however the last few people to arrive had a personal greeting from them, which we never had. Would have been nice to see physical people but that’s a minor issue and didn’t spoil our fabulous time!! We will be returning here for sure!!

Positiv What can I say..... Amazing!
We have just stayed here for 2 nights with our 12 year old and had a great time.
Owners Jack and Sheree were fantastic.
We arrived slightly early and kindly requested access to toilet facilities for our daughter. Sheree was more than helpful and let us straight in for toilet access. Thank you, this was hugely appreciated post surgery 2 days prior to camping!
This is a lovely intermit site, with only around 15 pitches I believe, all very well spaced out.
You can drive your car onto the grassed areas to pitch up, and then must drive it back off around 50m to the carpark. This is strict, but made the site look so tidy and so much space between each tent.
They have lots of small animals to pet, (Goats, pigs, ponies, sheep, rabbits etc) and some which can be fed. Bring some 20p for this, as they have a fab dispenser on the fences to get food for the animals to assist their diets. Some animals cannot be fed, and this is very well documented near each pen.
Goats are super friendly and roam freely for a short time on evening which my daughter loved, as did the rest of the children on site.
Toilet and shower facilities available and very clean and maintained regularly each day. Also, children seats are available to use over the toilets for comfort, and female products were a great touch from owners.
Communal fridges and a microwave, aswell as washing up sink with hot water also available, which was great in the hot weather.
Electric hook up and water points available at all pitches. Additional charge when booking for electic hook up. I would bring atleast a 10m cable to comfortably pitch your tent centrally within your pitch.
Fire pits can be purchased on site at a small cost per evening. Bags of logs and bags of kindling also can be purchased. We loved this, and again this is well documented.
The fires on an evening around the camp looked so beautiful.
Absolutely star gazing spot! The night sky was so amazing.
Quiet hours 11pm-8am.
Gate has a fantastic security opening and closing system, one I have never seen before at sites. This would provide added comfort to anyone who would worry about security in any way. No access to public.
As this is an active farm, there is alot of noise from animals from 4am. Especially pigeons, however this is out for the control of owner of course. It did not effect our stay, but would recommend bringing some earplugs is you are a light sleeper :)
All tents are situated around the border of the camp leaving a large area in the middle for children to enjoy.
It was a full camp this weekend, and went had great families and children throughout.
Very respectful.
I also wish to share that this site is literally 5 minutes drive to flamingoland, and 20mins to local beach.
There is a lidl 5 mins drive away, also a coop, and a spar garage.
Jack and sheree are very much present on the outskirts of this camp site, on there working farm, you'll see them from a distance, and have there contact numbers for any problems which they are very responsive too :)
Fantastic location, great campsite with so many little extras for the kids, amazing facilites and well maintained. We will definitely be back, and will recommend to friends and family 😁

Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe

From Pickering you can catch the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a heritage train ride through the distinctive moorland landscape. Disembark at Goathland (which might look familiar if you’ve seen the first Harry Potter film) or ride all the way to the Whitby terminus. Flamingo Land Resort (10 minutes’ drive) has thrill rides like multi-looped roller coasters and vertiginous drop towers, plus family-friendly attractions like tractor rides and a soft-play area in the shape of a pirate ship. On hot days, the kids might be drawn to the water-play zone, and there’s also a zoo with penguins, lemurs and other animals. Whitby (35 minutes) is known for the hilltop remains of a 14th-century abbey, which is said to have inspired Bram Stoker to write Dracula. After visiting the house where Captain James Cook (of South Pacific exploration fame) lived as a young man (now a museum), make your way to the Whalebone Arch for views over the harbour.
