Sutton Hoo Holidays Campsite

4th visit to this site and it never ever disappoints.
Pitches are very big and being fully serviced is a huge benefit.
Site layout is simple but perfect with the play equipment in middle to keep an eye on those little ones.
Facilities are well maintained and cleaned regularly. Spacious family bathroom with bath. Washing up facilities great. The fridge and freezer facilities perfect for those in smaller units like us. Plenty of information for the area. Kettle also helped with doing hot water bottles.
Site itself is in perfect location. Easy walk to sutton hoo. 15 minute walk to train station in Melton and river deben. Many walks in area. A lot of places to visit within 30 minutes drive.

The site is on a working farm so you will have machinery moving but does not irritate us. The road outside is quite a busy road but it's not all night and infact as sun is setting its so quiet and you can hear all the birds going to sleep and even hear the sound of owls.

Most importantly are the owners of this site. They are so friendly and helpful. My kids love Helen. Communication prior to visit is great and the sign at information hut shows what pitch number you are on so if helen is unable to come see you straight away she will visit as soon as possible.

There is nothing we dislike

A lovely quiet site set amongst the pine trees a short drive from Woodbridge. The pitches are level large and nicely sectioned off with young trees.
The is water and electric hookups within easy reach of our parked van.
The facilities are clean and well laid out and the site is a few minutes walk from the National Trust Sutton Hoo site
Definitely recommend for those wanting a small secluded rural site

We chose this campsite as it is next door to Sutton Hoo and only a 5 minute walk away along a pleasant lane. The people who own/run the site are extremely helpful and friendly in every way. Large pitches with water and electricity. Shower and toilet facilities good but could do with a thorough clean. We enjoyed our stay.

Main road nearby with noise early mornings. In spite of the dry summer, the grass would have been in better condition if a gravel track was installed in front of the pitches, allowing the central area to be free of tyre tracks. The toilet and shower block requires a good scrub.

Everything was as advertised, the site was clean and tidy and the toilets were wonderful. Excellent site for Sutton Hoo.

Size of the pitch, not crowded, good facilities

Nice spacious site with around 20 spaces. Running water and electric for hook up but water was useful for us campers. Showers nice and warm and a bath! if you wanted it. It was all cleaned regularly and as most of the visitors were in vans, there was no queuing for anything.
The site is around ten minutes walk for Sutton Hoo. We travelled by train to Melton station which is around a twenty minute walk but a narrow path all the way. It's about ten minutes to the nearest pub at Wilford bridge and around half an hour walk to a convenience store in Melford. Coach and Horses pub there is excellent, even for vegetarians. Highly recommended.

The first night was a bit of a surprise because of the traffic noise but I imagine there was some sort of diversion as the next two nights were ok. You are under the flight path to, I imagine, Stansted airport but you can only here it as background noise and don't forget we were in a tent, so vans should be ok.

A lovely campsite, so handy having the kettle in the shed to use for that late night /early morning cuppa. Will definitely book again.

Very well kept and quiet site. The pitches were in very good condition and spacious.
Clean facilities and very close to a major National Trust site and the attractions of Suffolk.
