Set back from the Jurassic Coast above Lyme Regis, family-run Berries Farm Camping has spacious and scenic grass pitches on five acres of farmland. Well away from the buzz of the coastal towns in the Dorset National Landscape, the site is unpowered and some of the pitches slope slightly, but the stunning views more than compensate. Amenities include flushing toilets and showers with hot water; otherwise you’re pretty much on your own. Barbecues raised off the grass are permitted, but campfires are not (for the safety of the livestock grazing the field outside of camping months). Pets are welcome on site, but please keep a close eye on them as there are sheep in neighbouring fields. There are plenty of local footpaths for keeping them exercised nearby, and you can access the South West Coast Path directly from the farm. Up your green credentials and walk down to Charmouth in just over half an hour, or Lyme Regis in 40 minutes. You can also take the park-and-ride bus to Lyme; it stops a few minutes’ walk south of the farm. Pretty Bridport and West Bay are both accessible by bus in around 15 minutes.

喜欢 Absolutely stunning scenery. We loved camping at Berries and will definitely be back. Very, very clean campsite. Toilet and shower blocks are so clean and hot water whenever you need it. Plots are nice and big. Daisy, who runs the campsite, couldn't have been more helpful and really great communication. Its really easy to get to the campsite and even though it's by the road it's very private and by the time there's any noise of cars you're already up and enjoying the stunning views and fresh air across the valley. Shame it's only open for two months.

不喜欢 Daisy's thought of everything so there's nothing to not like. I think it's the best campsite we've ever been to!

Communication was excellent.
Showers and toilets are an excellent example of don’t judge a book by its cover… showers were lovely and warm and loads of space in the cubicle to yourself to get ready - you don’t even get that when somewhere states they have ‘proper shower block’. View was lovely. We were really happy here.

喜欢 Easy booking and arrival process, arrived earlier than expected and were able to go to our pitch and set up. Lovely views. Easy access to walking routes from campsite to Lyme Regis, Charmouth and even managed to walk to West Bay and catch the bus back, bus stop is just across the road from the campsite but no bus stop sign in layby. We were so pleased when we found it it was so near. Park and ride into Lyme Regis is 5 minutes up the road and the golf course across the road offers breakfasts, lunches, cakes and drinks.

不喜欢 Very open field with no shelter or sectioned areas ,no privacy with bushes for screening.

喜欢 Amazing view. Good location from Charmouth and Lyme Regis. Ease of booking and communication with host.

不喜欢 Small, cramped toilets. Not enough toilets for busy site. Showers and toilets are in temporary trailers so not an enjoyable experience. Electric hook up sites are very close to each other.

不喜欢 Would be good to have a water tap the other of the site, and also a pedestrian gate to the main bins (the farm gate is very heavy on its hinges)

Stay at Berries Farm and you’ll be well placed to explore the many attractions of the Jurassic Coast; have a forage for fossils on the beach at Lyme Regis (five minutes’ drive/40 minutes’ walk), take the kids to feed mullet at the bijou Marine Museum or play a round of golf on the course overlooking the sea. Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre (five minutes’ drive/35 minutes’ walk) displays fossils and has interactive exhibits explaining the geology of the UNESCO-listed coastline. Chesil Beach (20 minutes’ drive) is an iconic spot for a long shoreline hike along the shingle between West Bay and Portland. It’s also popular for sea fishing or watching the sun slip down over the waves on clear days. If you’re of a foodie bent, search out traditional thatched pubs serving home-made food and local seafood; the site is also less than 10 minutes by car to cookery courses and gardening days at River Cottage HQ. Bridport (15 minutes’ drive) is a west-country culinary hot spot too, with award-winning restaurants and farmers’ markets on Wednesday and Saturday.
