Got a bike? Get on it and pedal over to Dalesbridge, a cycle-friendly site pretty much at the spot where the Yorkshire Dales meets the Forest of Bowland. Spacious and family-run, it is within half an hour's drive of all three Yorkshire Three Peaks for hikes up Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent. First things first, though, head to the on-site shop to collect some local information and a map of the local area; many walking and cycling routes begin directly from the site. Half an hour’s drive away is the Gisburn Forest, where mountain bikers of all ages, fitness and nerve can pedal a route to suit. The Dales trails and Bowland bike paths aren't the only things to look forward to, as Dalesbridge is a peaceful family site with spectacular scenery in all directions. There’s ample room, a dog-walking area, staff who are happy to help, and most importantly for mountain roamers returning with a thirst, a fully licensed bar (open at certain times). There is also a pizza oven and an on-site shop, where you can stop off for coffee, rolls and pastries at the weekend. Based in Austwick, the site is a 10-minute drive from the historic local market town Settle which has shops and supermarkets. The Settle-Carlisle railway is also a short drive away.

喜欢 A great stay with greta facilities. I wish we arrived earlier so we could use the bar as it looked wonderful as well as the shop. Everything was laid out very clearly and the facilities were great and cleaned the next morning. The check in staff provided a map and there was plenty of space to pitch. A lovely addition was the dog exercise area that we made plenty of use from. We will definitely be returning.

Showers and toilets were good
Nice bar
Campsite was well maintained.
Good location near towns.

不喜欢 Friday night was really loud despite the 10pm Quiet time. Found it hard getting my 4 year old to sleep with the noise.

喜欢 Easy place to find, quick easy check in, site was equipped with hot showers and the facilities as advertised. Clean tidy grounds. Well laid out etc Location to surrounding areas really good we went to Ingleton trails. Enjoyed our 2 night visit and will be back in the future for sure

不喜欢 Road noise but knew this beforehand
Toilet/changing area- users should leave it in better condition after they use, I did but everyone doesn’t, It takes a minute or less to use provided squeegee after they use and their muddy dog paws

不喜欢 Lack of marking out of pitches and no 'Shower' sign on the shower block which only had wash up and toilet signs so never knew that it was a shower block.

喜欢 Lovely site well layed out with lots history.Nice touch by having plagues hanging around site explainging history of buildings.Welcoming staff.Bautiful views.On site Bar with pizza oven(odd days)

不喜欢 Toilets,shower facility very run down cpuld do with updateing(male/female use together at present with toilet and shower in one)staff trying keep clean.However,when shower been used floors wet and dirty from ppl using toiletd.Could do with a bench or stool to put your clothe on whilst washing/showering

喜欢 Lovely campsite in a beautiful location, close to settle and the yorkshire 3 peaks.
Plenty of space on the site and very clean, friendly staff, bar and beer garden. Didn't try the pizzas but told they are excellent. Small dog exercise area.

不喜欢 Water tap on the plot next to us, meaning people were going on someone's pitch.

Could do with a few more showers/toilets, enough during the day and night but queuing first thing in the morning.

Dalesbridge campsite is just off the main A65 road between Ingleton and Settle. Do not drive into Austwick. If travelling from the Settle direction the site is past the Austwick sign on the lefthand side of the road: turn into the entrance directly before the Dalesbridge sign. If travelling from Ingleton the site is just past the second turning into the village of Austwick; turn right after the crossroads. Satnav: please note that our entrance is directly off the A65: do not turn up Orcaber Lane!

Starting 10 minutes away, the walk to Ingleton Falls is gentle but rewarding, and even though you’re heading deep down instead of up, the caverns and wild rock formations of Whitescar and Ingleborough caves make for unmissable wanders. For walks with wildlife, make the half-hour trip to Malham Cove, where a pair of nesting peregrine falcons can be spotted in the summer months, alongside resident populations of jackdaws and housemartins. You can climb the massive amphitheatre cliffs of the cove, or follow trails up and around taking in the glacial Malham Tarn and Janet’s Foss waterfall. To see some wildlife at closer quarters, the Settle Falconry Centre (five minutes' drive) has daily displays of flying and feeding and if you feel you’d like to soar through the skies, the Ribble Viaduct section of the Settle-Carlisle Railway makes a fair imitation. If all this outdoor, high altitude stuff has made you peckish, head over to the Wensleydale Creamery (40 minutes) to learn how the famed crumbly cheese is made… and then sample some, but of course.
