Thorness Bay Holiday Park

Понравилось The landscape was beautiful lots of nature.

Не понравилось The dish wash area had children's paint and pots all over the floor and rubbish that we were stepping over our entire stay, the staff clearly hadn't been in to clean.
Following on from that the toilets hadn't been cleaned and several were blocked up, taps perpetually running etc. Also if you shower please be careful the floors are quite slimey and slippy even with shoes on.
It was £2.40 for a standard can of coke from the chip shop onsite.
The Corner Shop on site (Nisa Local) was only open till 7pm??? Most things shut before 8pm which means a car drive to the local town for emergencies.

Pitch wasn't stony
Toilets showers and dish washing area fantastic clean and hot water in all areas.
Hub and show bar was nice and clean
Good entertainment
Good size launderette onsite and not to expensive.

Не понравилось Only downside our pitch was on a slight slope so air bed kept sliding down against tent wall

Понравилось Everything. Great site. Attentive & pleasant staff. Easy walk into Dawlish, which is a wonderful place.
Especially liked the food van. Wasn’t expecting to be able to get curry topped chips at 7:40 when we’d had a horrendous journey.

Не понравилось The weight I’ve put on eating sundaes from the food van!!!!
Forgot our levellers. 😞

Понравилось Big generous pitch. No issues with the electric. Plenty of water stations. All staff I met were very friendly. Onsite shop was good. We went on Festival weekend as festival goers. They put on a coach service which was useful as it was out of the way for the festival. Views from pitch were stunning.

Не понравилось Bathroom block was disgusting. The showers were on a push button and lasted about 30 seconds - so annoying as a woman when washing hair. Chemical waste room disgusting. Beach is not for beach goers - appreciate this is not the sites problem but we were looking forward to a nice beach day and that wouldn't be possible here.

Не понравилось Toilets and shower not gleaned they were dirty no soap at sinks always empty. Showers were cold.
Chip shop closed before 8pm sunday

Не понравилось Toilet and shower block were very substandard, showers were dirty, cold all the time, no pressure, stayed on for roughly 3/4seconds at a time, never ever any toilet roll in any of the stalls, out of 6 shower cubicles, yes only six for two big fields of campers, 3 had no locks, and only three toilet cubicles for two big fields of campers, definitely no where near enough for the amount of van/tent campers, the waste disposal was again stinking and the smell made you ill everytime you had to empty your toilet cartridge, for a big company I was shocked to say the least, this was a common thought with every person we spoke to, ive stayed on many Many sites and have to say I don't think ive stayed on anything worse than this sorry, I thought I would be honest

Понравилось Location.
The staff at the bar/restaurant, very young but friendly and professional

Не понравилось Only one shower/toilet block that was in poor repair. Broken locks on the doors, shower heads that dribbled. They never felt clean, i saw cleaners there but i guess their efforts were so poor.
Camping area is on a slope so pitching a tent or van is challenging.
Swimmimg pool has loud music to the point you have to shout. We still went swimming every day but never found anyone who appreciated the music or volume.
Parking for the shop, chip shop and laundry. No spaces!

Понравилось Easy booking in, information was spot on for site facilities. Nice pitch and within a 10 minute walk to the beach. The spar was pricey but I guess that's what you expect although £4 for 1.75 ltr coca cola was exorbitant. The site rules aren't too restrictive we were all left to enjoy the experience.

Не понравилось The showers were a bit too quick, we had to somehow keep the disk pressed in whilst performing yoga to keep it going whilst washing.
