Just next to the Offa’s Dyke Path and on the banks of the River Teme, Panpwnton Farm is about as close to Wales as it’s possible to be without actually being in Wales (although as the border’s just a couple of hundred metres away you can easily flit between the two nations as you wish…) That location makes this a prime pick for anyone making their way along the entirety of the Offa’s Dyke Path – but there’s plenty of walking (and cycling too) to be done nearby for folk who aren’t up for such long-distance ventures. The farm is in the southern stretches of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (10 minutes' drive from Llanfair Waterdine), where lots of scenic trails await, and you can also try out shorter stretches of Glyndwr’s Way, another major trail on the Welsh side of the border. There’s pretty rural scenery all around the farm, but you’ll not be stranded miles from civilisation – in fact it’s only about a mile to the small town of Knighton for pubs, eateries, shops and a railway station. You can drive down there in five minutes or so, but the favoured way to travel is to stroll along the riverbank for 20 minutes. Barbecues are permitted on site, so stock up on goodies for the grill while you’re in town. A washing-up area is on hand for cleaning up afterwards, and there are hot showers to help you do the same for yourself. There’s no wifi on site, but most guests get decent phone signal, and there are charging facilities to make sure you’ve got plenty of juice to plan your adventures.

Gostou Fantastic stay. This is our second visit here. 10 min walk to town with pubs and a shop (plus Chippy) along the river.
Lovely site with loads of space, we stayed next to river so kids can play. Lovely clean toilets and showers.
Good food on site, we sadly missed the breakfast baps due to a long walk from site, but enjoyed the lunchtime panini’s and the ice cream is quality.
Will def stay again and have recommend to friends and family to join us next time. Thanks again.

Gostou Can pick where you want to pitch. Staff are super friendly, there is a cafe for sandwiches coffee and ice cream, local eggs to buy, etc. Washing facilities as well as plug sockets to charge phones (we plugged in our toaster), a kettle for instant(ISH) hot water. Just feel like they have thought of everything.
In addition the path to knighton takes about 15 minutes to walk and the path is beautiful, knighton is friendly, we tried a couple of pubs and coffee shops as well as walks in the area, all in all a fabulous stay

Gostou Had booked 2 days decided to stay 7 as for me and my dog it was a perfect for walking , it’s a relaxing easy going site , plenty of space even on busier weekends , I have an off grid van no problems . There are toilets and showers and the owner is going to install more toilets and a disposal waste point which will perfect .

Gostou This is an awesome campsite. There was discount for not having a car which is great as Knighton train station is just a mile away.
The facilities on site are clean and more than adequate.

I particularly enjoyed camping next to the river Teme, watching the resident kingfishers amongst a variety of other wildlife all doing their thing.

There are plenty of footpaths, bridlepaths and national trails to explore so had a fantastic time hiking and exploring castle ruins.

Gostou Świetne miejsce na wypoczynek na łonie natury. Panuje tam prawdziwa cisza i spokój, co pozwala na relaks. Sanitarne zaplecze, w tym toalety i prysznice, było wyjątkowo czyste. Płytka rzeka to idealne miejsce do zabawy dla dzieci, które były zachwycone możliwościami. Dodatkowo, liczne ścieżki zachęcają do spacerów i eksplorowania okolicy.

Gostou Everything about this small family run campsite was perfect from us from the peaceful location within walking distance of the small town of knighton, to the thoughtful facilities provided by the host. loved it.
We came by car, but now know that the site is easily accessed from the local railway station - would be perfect if staying in one of the hosts 2 bell tents and not having to carry kit

As you’ll probably be skipping about either side of Offa’s Dyke, it makes sense to start your trip with a visit to the Offa’s Dyke centre (five minutes’ drive) to find out about the ancient landmark. For other walking trails, head to the Elan Valley or Carding Mill Valley and the Long Mynd (both 40 minutes). For a closer look at the natural world, plan trips to the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre (25 minutes) or stop by at the Red Kite Feeding Station (40 minutes) to see these splendid beasts in flight. The Spaceguard Centre observatory (10 minutes) is also worth a visit if you’d like to find out more about the skies overhead. Castle outings are part of the landscape for trips here too – perhaps to the impressive 13th-century fortifications of Stokesay Castle (half an hour) or the art-filled rooms and colourful gardens of Powis Castle and Garden (50 minutes). If you’d rather skip straight to the garden strolls, try Hergest Croft Gardens (25 minutes).
