Located in the picturesque historic village of Belford in Northumberland, this 40-acre site is surrounded by woodlands and near to the heritage coastline of Northumberland, gateway to the Farne Islands. The two-bedroom Scandinavian lodge offers accommodation for up to four people in two ensuite bedrooms. The lodge also comes with a large kitchen with an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine and microwave. The living area features a log-effect fire, TV, DVD, music centre and underfloor heating. The lodge also offers its own private outdoor area complete with parking, garden, outdoor furniture and barbecue. A minimum seven-night stay applies with a week costing £500.
For a retreat away from the crowds, Yealm Cabin near Plymouth, Devon is a perfect choice for couples or families. This one-bedroom luxury log cabin offers open-plan living with a bedroom to the rear. Fully furnished and equipped with cooking facilities and a dining/living area, it provides year-round cosy accommodation for up to five people – even the family dog is permitted! The lodge enjoys views across the surrounding countryside and with glass-fronted doors visitors can enjoy it whatever the weather. There is also a bathroom and private courtyard and free Wi-Fi. The cabin is a bargain too at just £80 per night!
As its name suggests this cool and funky lodge is literally a ‘tiny wooden house’. It features everything one would expect from a typical two-bedroom house including kingsized beds, two floors, fitted kitchen with granite worktops, living room with woodburner and bathroom. There is also a hot tub, barbecue, veranda and central heating! It comes with everything visitors could need for the perfect holiday and with the hot tub heated and ready for arrival and logs waiting to be put into the stove, it’s the perfect choice even in winter. The house can sleep up to five people with dogs welcome too. There is a minimum two-night stay and it costs £250 for two nights.
The ‘curvy cabin’ at Blackberry Wood is a new concept for the site, offering stylish year-round accommodation for up to four people. The cabin features two bedrooms and also comes with a shower room, kitchen and woodburning stove in the living area. For visitors in warmer months or those happy to brave the cold there is also a private outdoor area complete with chairs and a firepit. Visitors will need to bring their own bedding, linen and towels. The cabin costs from £114 per night.
Tucked away in the village of Chard in Somerset is Alpine Grove Touring Park, a picturesque site surrounded by trees, walking trails, cycle routes and hiking adventures. The beautifully titled ‘Deer Lodge’ is a classic Scandinavian-style log cabin offering accommodation for up to five adults and two dogs. Full gas central heating makes it an ideal year-round choice and for extra warmth a log burner is fitted into the lounge area. Other facilities include a fully-fitted kitchen, large bathroom and lounge/dining area. Surrounded by trees the cabin offers a private space in which to relax and enjoy the countryside. A minimum three-night stay applies with prices for three nights from £249.
This ultra modern park has recently redeveloped all of its communal facilities and now includes a new lodge for those who want the outdoor holiday experience without the hassle of camping. The lodge offers accommodation for up to four people with two bedrooms, an open plan living/dining area and fitted kitchen. There is also a private veranda which is reached via French windows off the main living room. The lodge features heating and an electric fire for additional warmth on colder days. A minimum seven-night stay costs from £632.
What could be more perfect than a luxury lodge-style cabin in the Scottish Highlands? BCC Loch Ness Log Cabins are like something out of an alpine movie. The cabins enjoy an elevated position backed by woodland to the rear and from the front enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and glens. Loch Ness is just a few miles away and for nature lovers this place is a must with grouse, pheasant, roe deer, stags and red squirrels all regular visitors. For an adults-only holiday, Newbourne Woodland Campsite offers peaceful accommodation near Woodbridge, Suffolk. Kingfisher Cabin is a pretty little lodge, hidden in woodlands and overlooking a lake. Ideal for a romantic break for two, the cabin features a double bedroom plus a sitting room with woodburner, shower room and small kitchen area. The cabin costs from only £60 per night.
