Hales Hill Park

Ik was blij met The ease of everything from arriving to leaving. We set up pitch quite late around 7pm, but the clubhouse was very helpful as we forgot our fire pit but after asking they went out there way to have a look if there was any available and provided us one with a bag of logs too for a small charge which kept us going all night.

Very chilled out campsite with decent shower block facilities and great access to the river if that’s what your there to do.

Will return👍🏼

Large flat areas

Ik was niet blij met People who have no respect for others like running a vehicle engine until well after 11pm, children banging on vehicle windows and two yapping dogs.
Parents allowing their children to be noisy and playing on the park at 07:15

Ik was blij met Laidback nature of if nice and clean facilities organic free range eegs direct from the farmer.
Plenty of fish in the river just meters away from the camp.
Lovely onsite pub. Plenty of walks.
Loved to see a local water ski club in action. You can try it for a fee if you dare.!

Ik was niet blij met Local power cuts caused lack of water. Shame on energy companies.
Access road was really bad but once mentioned to the farmer hi attack it with his bulldozer and it become even better than the main roads in Yorkshire.

Ik was blij met We love coming back to this site and always have a good stay. It's self check in and the details are easy enough to follow with staff around if you need any help with anything. The small bar is great in the evening and even had a singer on over the bank holiday. As always the staff in the bar cannot do enough for you and are really friendly.
The location so close to york centre is perfect for trips. There is also a small village a 10 min drive that has a fish shop and corner shop.
Wifi on site can be hit and miss due to location, but that doesn't bother us as our children just love to spend time in the play area or football pitch.

Ik was niet blij met My only slight dislike, but it's not enough of a dislike to stop us booking again is the toilets/showers. There are only 2 of each for the site, so when busy there is often a queue and can get quite muddy/wet on the floor. But again only a slight niggle. We have stayed several times and will again.

Ik was niet blij met No one was there to check us in. Campsite is very basic and isolated. Toilets were in a bad state.

Ik was niet blij met Toilets and showers grubby, lack of hooks for clothes. Access road uneven with many potholes, £10 charge for electric is a rip-off. Stayed on many sites over the years and rate this one as the worst ever. The higher rated reviews are either fake or the people don't know what else is available, there are much better sites than this out there. Definitely wouldn't recommend
