There isn’t a better way to spend time with dads on Father’s Day (21 June) than on an outdoor holiday. Pitchup.com has rounded up some of the best sites where visitors can take part in different activities and spend some quality time in the great outdoors.

Siblyback Lake Campsite is located by the tors and moors of Bodmin and offers a good range of water- and land-based activities for all ages and abilities. Visitors can hire windsurfs, rowing boats, kayaks, and sailing dinghies. A new cable wakeboarding system, the only clockwise system in the UK, has been installed recently, adding to the fun guests can enjoy. The tranquil lake offers excellent walking and birdwatching and is popular among fly fisherman. It is a Trout Master fishery, which means that visitors who catch a whopper will be entered into the eponymous nationwide competition. There is also high ropes course, archery and water-zorbing balls for children. Tent pitches at the site start from £14 per night with plenty of availability over Father’s Day weekend.

Wild Camping in Cornwall is in the heart of the beautiful west Penwith, just 15 minutes’ drive from the north Cornish coast. The campsite is a great place to spend Father’s Day as visitors can learn new crafts or enjoy different activities organised by qualified and knowledgeable staff. With bushcraft, upcycling crafts, green woodworking, traditional archery, herbalism, paper making, and wild food walks, there is something for everyone. What’s more, visitors can enjoy making their own campfire for cooking. A tent pitch here starts from £15 per night.

Narborough Fisheries sits in its own private 26-acre site in west Norfolk and is the perfect choice for dads who love to fish. With beautiful chalk stream water from the River Nar running through five fishing lakes, it offers a great way to spend Father’s Day. The site has a mix of fishing with two trout lakes, one specimen carp lake, a general mixed coarse lake, and a newly-created match and coarse lake with over 9,000 fish. The touring pitches run alongside two of the lakes and have wonderful views. There is a tackle shop on site where guests can buy all kinds of essentials. Pitches for caravans and motorhomes start from £15 per night.

Wyreside Lakes Fishery combines woods, wildlife and the winsome River Wyre and offers a serene country setting. The site is a great place to celebrate Father’s Day as it has fishing opportunities in a number of lakes alongside a wide range of other facilities including a games room, an outdoor playground, clubhouse with evening entertainment and woodland adventures for mini campers. The amenities have disabled provisions and baby-change facilities and there is a shop for food and drink, as well as camping and fishing essentials.  Tent pitches start from £12.50 per night.
