Croft Lane Green Camping

A aimé A spacious and quiet field, horses to the front, cows to the back.
A small play area for the little ones.
Compost toilets really not that bad (it was my first experience) plenty of toilet paper, sawdust and hand sanitizer available.
Washing up area was clean, I didn’t use the cold shower but it was pretty nestled amongst the willow tree.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thank you for commenting on your stay at our campsite. it is good to hear that the compost loos were better than what you were expecting - we do have reed diffusers in each of them and regularly spray with lavender and sweep and check that loo paper and saw dust are in good supply.
I agree with you that the willow tree is so pretty.

Have only put 8 for facilities/cleanliness only because it is what it is whilst the compost loo won’t be to everyone’s liking it was kept well stocked and clean. Despite the wind and rain we had a wonderful weekend away

A aimé The hosts were lovely and welcoming, let us come early because we were going to a festival and wanted to get there for lunch time. Camp site was everything we needed, lovely and clean. Thankyou

wherever possible we try to accommodate campers early or late arrival times and the same is true for late departures too.
We do make a point of ensuring the simple facilities are kept clean and tidy and well stocked.

A aimé If you like a good basic campsite, this is your place. 3 compost loos and a 'fairy' shower - outdoors, cold water under a beautiful willow tree.
The owners Charlie and Peter could not have been more helpful during our stay, checking in with us after we experienced horrible weather.
Tents are along one side of the field with a view of the horses. Amazing bird life around too.
Easy to get to and the bus stops are just outside the campsite, beaches are easily accessible too.

We will be back!

A aimé Pitches were well spaced out, everything was basic but was there. And we really enjoyed going back to basics for a change! We particularly liked showering under the willow tree, was a fun way to shower. The compost toilet was new to us. But was actually quite pleasant, dare I say, nicer than other ‘normal’ toilets than we have used in the past.
I met the host on arrival and she explained where to find water and told us about the site.

N'a pas aimé The shower and the washing up facilities were quite a walk away, I would have personally chose a pitch nearer the facilities, however I feel a lot of thought went into our assigned pitches, meaning we spaced out. We just drove to the shower as I didn’t want the children walking back to the tent cold, as the shower is cold.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thank you for your comments. Other people have also said that they were surprised how pleasant the compost loos actually are.
I agree with where I put you on the campsite was at one end of it so about 75 metres to the compost loo and 130 metres to the shower and sink. Love your ingenuity or driving to it to keep warm. Also my fault a bit as usually put people with young children in the middle of the field so they are close to the compost loo and play area and not so far to the shower. I was trying to space campers out a bit as not a full campsite. Will try to ensure that children regardless of age are nearer the centre of the field.
