Croft Lane Green Camping

Gostou Pitches were well spaced out, everything was basic but was there. And we really enjoyed going back to basics for a change! We particularly liked showering under the willow tree, was a fun way to shower. The compost toilet was new to us. But was actually quite pleasant, dare I say, nicer than other ‘normal’ toilets than we have used in the past.
I met the host on arrival and she explained where to find water and told us about the site.

Não gostou The shower and the washing up facilities were quite a walk away, I would have personally chose a pitch nearer the facilities, however I feel a lot of thought went into our assigned pitches, meaning we spaced out. We just drove to the shower as I didn’t want the children walking back to the tent cold, as the shower is cold.

Gostou We were extremely happy with our stay! The owners are absolutely lovely and super welcoming. There is plenty of space for everyone—they don't try to cram in as many people as possible, but genuinely care about guests' comfort. Right next to the campsite, there are horses you can watch, which is just wonderful! We will definitely be back!

Gostou Convenient location, relatively small, simple campsite, easy to find. We've returned here a few times now and Charlie and Peter are great hosts - there if you need anything, but not if you don't need them. West facing for lovely sunsets. Lots of birds (some of which were VERY noisy at 4am but if you're not prepared for that then don't go camping!)

Eco loos aren't my favourite, but these ones don't smell and they're well maintained (except when a teenage boy has been in before you and peed all over the seat... but you can't control for that!)

Não gostou There's slight road noise from the main road, but if you look at the map you'd be able to tell that anyway! Also on our first night there were idiots next to us up chatting until after 1am and had their fire so big it was concerning - we're in the middle of a heatwave and there's already been a wildfire on Hayling this summer. Reported it and Charlie and Peter dealt with it.

Also, I wish Echo was a more sociable dog - she's a very good, beautiful girl that keeps her distance from people and other dogs, but I'd have loved to have given her pets! Perhaps Charlie or Peter will give her some from me! :-)

i am pleased that you found the eco loos more pleasant than you expected. we do make an effort to keep them as nice as possible using lavender spray and citrus smelly sticks too.
we wish that Echo our dog was more friendly too but i think it is a combination of being a rescue dog and her breed as well. i did give her an extra treat so she was very happy but don't think she knew why!

Gostou We liked the field and its views of the horses. We liked the other wildlife there too, saw a fox, bats, swifts etc. and the cows mooing next door. Loved that we could have a campfire (fire pit). The compost toilets were surprisingly great. Loved the willow tree washing up station. Good location too, farm shop close, Billy walking trail close, Sam’s Sunflowers, Donkey sanctuary.

Não gostou Not really anything that would stop me coming back! A little bit of road noise perhaps.

you were very lucky to see all of the wildlife of which there is a lot.
The farm shop has such wonderful produce so great that you could visit it.
Sam's Sunflowers and the free donkey sanctuary are some of my favourite things to experience on the island as well as walking the Billy Trail

Gostou Peaceful, sheltered site. Lots shade. Charlie delightful and very helpful.
