Bishops Lydeard Caravan and Camping Site

A aimé A very pretty site on a smallholding. The friendly welcome from the cheerful owner and cats/dogs was lovely. A peaceful and spacious, if a little bumpy, field surrounded by woodland. Portaloos and showers provide complimentary Faith in Nature toiletries which was a treat! Really great location near the steam trains and the brewery. The pub, The Lethbridge Arns, in Bishop's Lydeard does amazing Thai food!

N'a pas aimé The toilets and showers were really clean, but they are portable, so not as comfortable as facilities in a building. I guess this is because of planning permission on agricultural land. But the cleanliness and gorgeous toiletries made up for this!

N'a pas aimé Ladies toilets clean toilet and sink but cobwebs etc and we understand it is not main sewage system but the smell/odour made me and another lady on site gag (retch). If this issue was addressed, it would raise our score to 9/10. We also had disrespectful neighbours in a few vans, who arrived back from pub or elsewhere about 10 pm, 11.30 pm still out in gazebo laughing obviously having a great time, but when still there at nearly 2.30 am, totally out of order.

A aimé Friendly welcome, nice large field that's relatively flat, close to the West Somerset Railway and the Quantock Brewery. Showers, although portable, work well. Electricity, water, and black and grey waste disposal included. Beautiful chickens and geese.

A aimé Quite basic facilities, just how we like it. The owner is very nice and her pets friendly. Close to all amenities.

A aimé Nice quiet site just a few minutes away from the steam railway to Minehead and a good little micro brewery. Just in the village is The Lethbridge pub serving lovely Thai food 😋
Our second time here this year and always get a warm welcome from Karen
looking forward to our next stay.

Loved the chickens and the geese.
Got to see Hornets.

A aimé The small holding set up. Roaming chickens and geese.
Environmental set up inc refuse.
Complimentary toiletries and washing up liquid.
Friendly site owner.
Close proximity to micro brewery, pubs and public transport.

A aimé This campsite is a little gem. The location is spot on, the local village is great for food and drinks which is walkable and the added bonus was the steam train which is a 5 mins walk from campsite. The campsite has geese, chickens, cockerels and we also spotted a hedgehog and bats. There was also a stall for veg which you could buy supplies and the owner is super helpful and will guide you on where to go. Plenty of hot water for the showers.

N'a pas aimé The toilet block there seemed to be a slight odour in the ladies but my husband said his block was fine!.
