Bishops Lydeard Caravan and Camping Site

Syntes om This campsite is a little gem. The location is spot on, the local village is great for food and drinks which is walkable and the added bonus was the steam train which is a 5 mins walk from campsite. The campsite has geese, chickens, cockerels and we also spotted a hedgehog and bats. There was also a stall for veg which you could buy supplies and the owner is super helpful and will guide you on where to go. Plenty of hot water for the showers.

Syntes om Pleasant reception, able to choose your own pitch, site always well maintained, toilets and shower block very good, and complimentary shower gel, shampoo and conditioner

Syntes om Quiet location and near to the steam railway station, a brewery and a couple of pubs.
Ample provision of eco-friendly handwash, shower gels, shampoos and conditioner, along with washing-up liquid.

Syntes ikke om Portaloos (3), 2 others were roped shut and portashowers (4), there were probably not enough to cope with a full campsite and they didn't work too well with continuous push-on buttons and water temperature changing as the flow altered. A trailer of 4 ladies toilets was very basic. No undercover washing-up facilities or draining board.

Fra bestyreren: Unfortunately the main sewage system does not extend to us as we live in an historical old property. We brought in a luxury toilet trailer last year and the ladies does have 4 proper flushing toilets, hand washing sinks, soap dispensers and electric hand dryers. We also have back up portaloos. There is also a 4 cubicle shower trailer with hot water sinks in each one. Plus a separate shower shack with pedestal sink and mirror. There was no additional charge for using the showers and we provide as you kindly commented luxury Faith in Nature shower products. Push buttons are fairly standard at most campsites to prevent wastage. The facilities are routinely checked and cleaned each day.

Syntes om Only stayed one night, to break up the journey to Devon but would stay again. The only thing that lets it down is the portaloo toilets & cabin shower, but they were clean enough.
The nearby Quantock brewery taproom is good .!

Good location for walks.
Facilities were kept clean.
Box of outdoor games were provided for the children (bonus)..

Syntes om Just about everything - space per pitch, had all essential services, toilet & showers but too far apart. Great setting.

Syntes om Really enjoyed the location. The owners are amazing and the site is well looked after. The portable 4 shower unit was hot and had good flow and the body wash and hair products were a kind gesture and were great to try too. Its possible to get a level pitch and the owners concentrate more on large spaces for tents/ trailer tents and caravans rather than how many they can squeeze in. I would also say the respect of all the people on site for each other with noise and so on was greatly appreciated too.
