Shamba Holiday Park is a family-friendly site that’s just a short drive from both the New Forest National Park and the sea and sand of Bournemouth town centre. Guests can make use of the facilities on site, which include a heated swimming pool, a comfortable toilet and shower block, a play area and a clubhouse with a games room. An on-site shop is also stocked with many of the essential items that you might find you need for your stay. If you're always looking for a way to keep the kids entertained, you should be pleased to know that the site runs children's activities during the school holidays and on selected weekends. Shamba Holiday Park is in a convenient location just off the A31 and is five minutes' drive away from the centre of Ringwood. The friendly team looks forward to giving you a warm welcome to this lovely site.

No me gustó Everything, pool was green, didn’t even use the toilets due to the sewage smell, had to be moved pitches due to not enough space, water supply and electric hook up not a foot apart and the place was swarming with travellers who think it’s ago to allow the children to ride electric bikes around the pool! Horrendous

Me gustó Location - close to Bournemouth and lovely, dog-friendly surrounding beaches. The wardens were friendly and approachable which is the only positive that we can give the site.

No me gustó Dirty, unmaintained toilets. The ladies toilets in particular often had no toilet paper with used sanitary products not being disposed of as the bins were full. The sanitary products were even thrown in the sinks which is disgusting for all users in the bathroom. Loud music being played by campers well past midnight despite there being clear rules for no music past 10:30pm. The dog area was like a wasteland and not at all user friendly next to the waste disposal area.

Me gustó Washing up area was good.
Wardens were friendly.

No me gustó Toilet and shower block didnt seem very old but it was dirty. We were there 3 nights and it wasn't cleaned in that time. There was a swimming costume left on the hand dryer the whole time we were there.
Often, there was no toilet roll.
Sanitary bins were over flowing.
Outside bin area was overflowing and smelt really bad in the heat.
Pool smaller than expected and run down. Play area also needed a re-vamp.
Pitches close together with no privacy and Saturday night it was really noisy with loud music and shouting from other campers, didn't seem to be enforced by staff.
I know you can't monitor this at booking but a lot of the people staying here were not pleasant, lots of swearing and shouting.

Me gustó We got a very quiet pitch in the corner of the campsite (20) which was great. The clubhouse is very reasonably priced. Very helpful staff.

No me gustó A couple of fights broke on the first night when we arrived, which is no one’s fault but didn’t send the right message.
The phone line was down and we couldn’t reach anyone at all on the day of arrival (phone, email, Facebook).
The pool didn’t look super clear and clean.

A fight started within 30 mins of arriving next door to our pitch.
2 ambulances a visit from the police and an arrest later we got some sleep at approx 5 am.
Would love to say it was our bad luck but looking round I have a feeling this might not be uncommon.

Me gustó Staff were really friendly and and pool was welcome on a really hot day.

No me gustó The shower block is a little tired and needs upgrading. Also there is no separation between the pitches. While the club house is ok, there was no entertainment and no real atmosphere.

Me gustó A very nice and welcoming warden who worked very hard in very difficult and busy august circumstances.
Shower blocks good, clean and inspected.
A very generous pitch size

No me gustó hardstanding as requested where largish stones only suitable for motorhomes and not a surface I would pitch an awning, however the warden was brilliant in letting us chose a grass pitch
No restriction on entry, cars were arriving after hours pitching small tents near friends and leaving the following morning, on several evenings youngsters slept in cars.
Several caravanners we believed were travellers, a fight/argument occured at 1.30 in the morning.

Me gustó The pitch sizes was true for the largest pitch.

Gary the Warden is the best thing about the site. Super friendly, helpful and amazing with the kids.

The pool was large, well kept and clean.

The Club was open Thursday until 9pm and Fri/Sat until 10pm.

No me gustó During my stay there were 2 fights 9:30pm & 01:00am at the same pitch and 2 ambulances.
This type of behaviour makes the site feel unsafe.

The playpark is awful.

The Club has a tatty room for kids to play that was dirty and worn.

You needn’t stray far from base for fresh air activities: it’s a minute’s walk to East Moors Fishing Lake for days in quiet contemplation of the waters, and there’s further fishing five minutes’ drive away at Moors Valley Country Park, along with miniature steam trains, adventure play trails and golf. If it’s rides and slides you’re after, Adventure Wonderland is 10 minutes away, with rollercoasters and log flumes, safari jeeps and battle boats; for fans of a certain cheeky cartoon porker, Peppa Pig World has rides and an indoor playground (20 minutes). Wanting watery antics? Also 20 minutes away, Splashdown Waterpark has all the required river rides and waterfalls, or if you prefer your waves at a distance, head into Poole (25 minutes) for harbour cruises and ferry rides to Brownsea island. Beach lazing, windsurfing and fossil hunting are handily close by at Bournemouth (20 minutes) and along the Purbeck Heritage Coast around Studland (50 minutes). The surrounding Studland and Godlingston Heath National Nature Reserve makes for fine hikes, especially when the landscape turns into vivid yellows and purples in summer. Surrounded by the New Forest, Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst (20 minutes and half an hour) are popular hubs for bike hire and numerous cycling routes. There’s a six-mile family-friendly circuit close by around Burley (15 minutes), or for those with bigger ambitions and calf muscles, a 15-mile loop from Brockenhurst.
