What customers say

Staff are top, facilities are clean and the location's great. Swimmers loved the pool. Some found facilities dated, toilets lacked paper, and pitches were cramped. Noise and upkeep were noted.

Unpowered grass site

Liked Staff very attentive, a playpark, games room, clubhouse and a swimming pool for the kids was good. However the swimming pool can become very crowded and its a lot of families who just let the kids run wild which can sometimes mean its a bit loud and chaotic.
However great location for families for sure.

Unpowered grass site

Liked Nothing

Disliked Stayed on lots of sites over the years and never felt unsafe and had to leave.

Didn’t even stay the night. Left after a couple hours from checking in.
Toilets blocked, showers smelt of urine. Loud music. Feeling that a fight would have broke out, people drinking down the lane.
Smell of cannabis.

Liked Swimming pool onsite and flat pitches. The man that walked round the site in the morning wearing a cowboy hat was extremely helpful and always polite, shame he's not in the office.

Disliked Club house and games room were not open the whole time we were there, eventhough we were told it was open Wednesday to Sunday, it did not open Wednesday. No food on site, although there is a burger van situated there but never open. Also, no WiFi Young girl was very rude when booking in, not helpful at all, we had to ask where our pitch was, as we were just handed a piece of paper without any explanation. She then stood by payment machine without asking us for payment or an amount, it wasn't till we were going to leave to pitch up she then said you need to pay, presuming we knew that's why she was stood there. Her whole conversation consisted of "Booking up? What's your name?" Not a great start to a few nights away. This site has so much potential if the staff were more welcoming and accommodating and they could be on a huge money earner if the clubhouse and burger van was open as there is nothing else to do there in the evenings!

Liked The pool was very clean and good size, the community feel of the campsite. All staff were very friendly and helpful, shout out to warden Gary who works so hard around the camp. The toilets were always very clean and good pitch size.

Disliked Clubhouse was not open when we were there unfortunately.

Liked That it was away from the road. The pool was a nice addition. The toilets were clean despite nooo paper most of the time.

Disliked The club house was never open and o chose it for some entertainment for the children. It is a very busy site with cars moving all the time and no real designated children’s patch of ground to play on. The loos constantly ran out of paper. The pool shower and toilet were not very nice. There never appeared to be anyone managing the site.

Local attractions

You needn’t stray far from base for fresh air activities: it’s a minute’s walk to East Moors Fishing Lake for days in quiet contemplation of the waters, and there’s further fishing five minutes’ drive away at Moors Valley Country Park, along with miniature steam trains, adventure play trails and golf. If it’s rides and slides you’re after, Adventure Wonderland is 10 minutes away, with rollercoasters and log flumes, safari jeeps and battle boats; for fans of a certain cheeky cartoon porker, Peppa Pig World has rides and an indoor playground (20 minutes). Wanting watery antics? Also 20 minutes away, Splashdown Waterpark has all the required river rides and waterfalls, or if you prefer your waves at a distance, head into Poole (25 minutes) for harbour cruises and ferry rides to Brownsea island. Beach lazing, windsurfing and fossil hunting are handily close by at Bournemouth (20 minutes) and along the Purbeck Heritage Coast around Studland (50 minutes). The surrounding Studland and Godlingston Heath National Nature Reserve makes for fine hikes, especially when the landscape turns into vivid yellows and purples in summer. Surrounded by the New Forest, Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst (20 minutes and half an hour) are popular hubs for bike hire and numerous cycling routes. There’s a six-mile family-friendly circuit close by around Burley (15 minutes), or for those with bigger ambitions and calf muscles, a 15-mile loop from Brockenhurst.
