We are always honoured to host them for the three months that they stay with us each year. It really is a compliment that they choose our lake as a safe and suitable place to raise their young families on and we really miss them when they leave us each year. Unfortunately though, wild geese are just like people and if they eat then they need to poo too - at least theirs is just grass which washes easily away and it really is a small inconvenience for the great pleasure that they bring to so many people 😊
Please correct your statement that you paid extra for air conditioning as your booking did not. Our site rules clearly state that air conditioning units are not included in pitch prices simply because we charge a very competitive and reasonable all in one flat fee pitch price. All of our pitch fees are inclusive of up to 4 people, pets, awnings, water, free heated showers and electricity. The electricity included is a very generous allowance of 16 amps all of which is just £30 per night (in high season too). In order for us to be able to offer this and keep our prices as low as possible for all campers we simply cannot afford to, nor do we wish to include air conditioning units in the all inclusive pitch fee.

Me gustó The site was beautiful and was brilliant for kids with the animals and little play park.
The amenities were kept nice and clean.
The owners were lovely and very approachable.

Me gustó We had a wonderful stay at this campsite and would highly recommend it. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

The grounds are beautifully maintained, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Everything was clean, tidy, and clearly cared for with great attention to detail.

One of the highlights of our stay was the beautiful animals on site. They were a delight to see and added so much charm and character to the campsite, making the experience even more special.

Overall, this is a lovely campsite with fantastic hosts, stunning grounds, and wonderful animals. We look forward to returning in the future.

No me gustó Totally out of the owners control but worth mentioning, there is a kennels very close by so if you're a light sleeper, you may want to bring earbuds.

Me gustó Large pitches, short grass. Very clean toilers/showers. Great for walking dog .

No me gustó Barking dogs, all day at night ! Not the fault or anything to do with the owners of the site but very nearby property.
Bird mess everywhere, grass is covered in it.

Me gustó We liked the site, its small and friendly.
We loved meeting the animals. The geese were friendly too and were a highlight having the babies visit. We had an electric grass pitch with plenty of room.
Lake for fishing was fab.
Toilets and showers were clean.

No me gustó Disliked the amount of geese poop but it is what it is! The geese use the site like a nursery so a curse and a joy.
Not under the owners control, there is a kennels nearby so subject to sporadic barking

Me gustó The owners are amazing , really made our first trip out in our new tent very special , they made us feel very comfortable and at home away from home , my little girl adored them and they make up super special for her also , toilets and and family shower room lovely and clean , and over all the whole site was kept very well .

No me gustó Goose poo but I do understand the geese are wild and this is well out of their control as well as the neighbours dogs barking ,

Del administrador: This visitor booked a small £10 pitch (cyclist size small tent), but arrived with a big 4 man tent, 2 dogs and a car which we went out of our way to accommodate and find space for on a fully booked bank holiday weekend. We also generously honoured the £10 site fee instead of charging her the actual pitch fee of £35, or turning her away from the campsite. The review states that she liked the facilities and cleanliness "so it was nice and clean" and then gives a rating of just 6 which totally contradicts the praise of nice and clean. As for the location score of just 4 we definitely don't understand this considering the lady told us that she chose the site because her father lives very close by; so surely the location was ideal. Her father even visited her here on site (a day visitor that again we should have charged for but didn't). It is very disheartening when kindness and generosity is not appreciated, but at least our showers, toilets and all other facilities were "nice and clean".

Me gustó Virginia Lakes is an outstanding campsite, caravan park, and fishing destination. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how well-maintained and welcoming the site was. The grounds are clean, tidy, and beautifully kept, creating a relaxing environment for both campers and caravan owners.
The fishing lakes are a real highlight. They are well looked after, peaceful, and offer a fantastic experience for anglers of all abilities. Whether you're an experienced fisherman or just looking to enjoy a few hours by the water, the lakes provide a perfect setting.
The campsite has a friendly atmosphere, with plenty of space and excellent facilities. The owners and staff are approachable, helpful, and clearly take pride in making sure visitors have a great stay.
If you're looking for a peaceful getaway where you can enjoy camping, caravanning, and quality fishing in beautiful surroundings, Virginia Lakes is hard to beat. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return. Highly recommended!
