Power optional gravel travel trailer campsite
Liked Location to the beach
Disliked Our check in started with standing behind a man that was being very rude to staff members as he was unhappy about where he was pitched. As I was setting up the family across the way were swearing at their kids. On our second night the car across the way from us got smashed up by a guy with a hammer at 5 am. After this it didn't feel very safe. For some reason the site attracts some very unpleasant people which unfortunately ruined our stay. We won't be returning.

Liked Location
Disliked Be aware that some of the pitches are located at the bottom of a steep hill. Our van would not have got back up the hill so we were moved to another pitch. The pitch was tiny and we were barely able to place chairs outside of our van. However I appreciate the site was fully booked and this was the only option otherwise we would have had to stay elsewhere. I did walk around the site though and most pitches were tiny or sloping. The "free shuttle bus" that is advertised on pitch up is incorrect. Yes there is a handy shuttle that goes every 30 minutes but it is not free. The showers had intermittent cold and hot water which was a pain, no soap dispensers in the toilets. Only half the washing up sinks had hot water. The cleaners decide that the morning is the best time to close and clean the toilets and showers which is the busiest time for their use so you sometimes have to wait a while. The swimming pool was freezing and even my kids, who would spend hours in a cold pool, could only bear it for 5 minutes. There was no evidence of a kids club during our stay as advertised. The farm next door had dogs barking for hours from very early in the morning (however I appreciate this is not the fault of the campsite). All in all, very overpriced for a very basic site. We stayed on 9 sites throughout France and Spain during our holiday and this was twice the price of all the others with by far the worst facilities.

Liked Very quiet campsite. Pool was warm and very clean. Close to local village with shops and cafes. Clean showers and toilets although no soap for our whole stay. Brilliant park for the children to play on with tables and chairs near to the bar for parents to sit and watch.
Disliked Bar closed at 9pm

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re happy you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, the warm and clean pool, and the facilities for both children and parents 😊 We’re sorry there was no soap in the sanitary blocks during your stay — that’s not up to our usual standards, and we’ll make sure to be more vigilant. As for the bar, it does close at 9 pm to help maintain the calm of the campsite in the evening, and also to respect staff working hours — thank you for your understanding! — The Pont Romain team

Powered grass travel trailer campsite (comfort)
Liked Spacious pitches, close to an amazing beach with great swimming, friendly staff always on hand to help, messaged for an earlier than advertised check in and this was accommodated. Plenty for children to do with a park, bouncy castle and table tennis. Walking distance to town which had a great market.
Disliked Would benefit from more showers as we had to queue but never for very long.

Liked Absolutely gorgeous campsite with fabulous views. So clean and well kept. The owners were very helpful and lovely and squeezed us in for an extra night even though they were fully booked. Will definitely be coming back 😁
