Liked Very friendly and helpful management - welcoming and kind.
Shower block clean and tidy.
Pitch were spacious, wth both electric and water.
Provision of excellent baked goods - I recommend the pain au chocolate, the apple pastry, and the baguette with seeds etc. All beautiful.
Recommendation for the local friterie was superb - highly recommended.
Recommendation for a wander around the town and its places of interest.

Liked Excellent location. A short walk into the centre ville. Close to the park and thermal centre.
Friendly staff at reception.
Excellent pain au Chocolat etc. available to order.
Disliked Teenagers using the bathrooms to hang out in. A bit inconvenient when you need to use the facilities and they using facetime to call friends.
The bathrooms were pretty clean...but had an unpleasant smell.
No plus in the washing up sinks.

Liked Excellent bathroom facilities. Great shop witha range of essentials, plus a VERY well supplied camping section.
The restaurant was a bonus - decent food and beer. As was the option to order criossants and baguettes for each morning - they were still warm when we collected them, The pain au chocolat were EPIC.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful - a great team.
The views across to Chesil Beach and surrounding area was beautiful. I'd also recommend a stroll to The Lugger Inn, as you pass the Fleet Old Church - very small, but very pretty.

Disliked Nothing...a great site.

Power optional grass campsite
Liked Lovely staff who welcomed us and were unfailingly polite and helpful.
The bar on site serves a great local beer :)
The onsite pool was a welcome sight and certainly made a hot day more pleasant.
Many of the pitches offer lovely shade during the day, keeping your place cooler, and more comfortable.
The rabbits on site were delightful - it was great to see them hopping about.
The local town is lovely - the castle.museum is a MUST visit. The restaurants near the castle are also very good (Bistro de Antoine was the one we ate in - superb).
Disliked Access to electricial hookups was difficult, with cables having to be run over pathways / road spaces. Unfortunately, we were too far away, but were able to manage without.

Liked Excellent facilities for toileting, showering and washing up.
Great site with friendly staff.
The village is lovely. The nearest bar/eaterie does amazing food at excellent prices.
Disliked Electricity polarity was reversed, so had to get tools out and swap terminals in my cabling.
Same happened for another couple as we were leaving, so I was able to help them sort their cable out too.

Bovey Tracey, Devon, England
Powered grass and earth campsite
Liked Debbie and Allan make you welcome right from the moment you arrive - they are lovely people and genuinely interested in their guests. Every evening they pop past and make sure everyone is happy and all is well.
The site is in a great location. It is surrounded by nature, either woodland or fantastic views across the countryside. Whilst staying we saw many squirrels, pheasants and bats, all on site.
There is a path nearby that takes you to the village nearby, which has a great pub.
The facilities on site are extremely well tended to: clean, tidy and everything works properly. The showers are hot and have decent water pressure. The washing up area is a good size too, with plenty of hot water to clean your dishes with.
The grass pitches (which we used) are lovely and level, with nice soft ground for pitching tents. Likewise, the gravel pitches for motorhomes are level and have grass areas next to them for awnings and the like.
As the site doesn't have 'play' areas as such, it seemed to attract a more chilled out and 'mature' type of camper. In the evenings people spent their time quietly enjoying the sounds of the birds on the trees, chatting quietly, without loud music or screaming kids breaking the peaceful atmosphere.
We shall DEFINITELY be returning next season, and would recommend Oakmoor to any campers who like a relaxing time away.

Delft, South Holland, The Netherlands
Power optional grass and gravel RV campsite
Liked Absolutely brilliant location for visiting Delft and beyond. The center of Delft is about 10-15 mins slow stroll away, or five minutes by bike. The railway station at Delft can take you onwards for day trips to The Hague / Amsterdam / Rotterdam.
The site itself has good facilities for families in particular, with a decent pool, play area, and hire of pedal go-karts.
Showering and toilet facilities are all located in one block, so factor this in to where you choose / are allocated a pitch. It also means that a LOT of people are using the same facilities, although we only had to wait for a shower on one occasion during four days (and a total of 16 showers between the two of us!). The facilities are pretty clean and tidy, although early in the morning and late at night are best, when they have just been cleaned.
The motorhome pitches have electricity / water - although you do pay extra for the electricity. It works out at about 3 Euros a day.
The on-site shop has most of the basics you'd need, plus really nice pastries and bread fresh each day.
Disliked It can get VERY noisy with kids playing / screaming / crying.
However, if you book a site aimed at families you have to just accept it.

Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands
Powered cement/asphalt RV campsite
Liked What a wonderfully friendly site! The staff in reception and the restaurant/bar were so helpful, and really went out of their way to make our stay a great experience.
The pitch was a very good size, with water and electricity.
The facilities are very good:
Toilets/showers - VERY clean and tidy and never overcrowded despite the site being busy.
Washing up -they have a dishwasher! Never seen this before at a site. A small industrial type dishwasher that made doing the washing a joy instead of a chore. 3-5 mins and boom! Clean stuff.
Laundry - there's a washing machine and a tumble dryer. We did a wash and it came out very well indeed. The cost was about average for a campsite, ut did include a liquid washing pod! A very nice touch. The tumble dryer was good too, and not expensive to use, so we felt happy to get our clothes nice and dry.
Restaurant / bar - we only ate there on our last evening. Had we known how great the food would be we'd have eaten there more. Very reasonably priced and the quality / presentation of the food was at gastropub / restaurant levels. This is not your usual campsite snack bar fare.
Play facilities - not having kids this did not apply to us - but the swimming pond, playpark, and trampolines by the restaurant/bar kept the children we did see very happy.
Excellent location - within walking distance of the two nearest towns - definitely comfortable cycling distance. Scheemda has a train station, which we used to get to Groningen. There is also a big lake nearby in Midwolda, which has a lovely sandy beach, with play facilities for kids, plus cycling paths around.
Wi-Fi was a bonus too and was free to use.
We'd definitely stay again, and would recommend it to others.

FHU grass travel trailer campsite (Private restroom amenities)
Liked The site is a wonderful wooded site, surrounded by nature. The pitches are a great size, so you never feel like you are overlooked, or too close to anyone, which we really appreciated.
The best thing about the site is the pitch had its own little bathroom / toilet! We've never had that luxury on a site before or since. It was clean and tidy, with everything you'd need while camping.
The location of Aan Veluwe is great for visits to local attractions - many of which are within cycling or walking range. Oosterbeck is just down the road for a bit of shopping.
The website is very helpful and really made getting to and from attractions helpful. It also helped us plan our days out based on the weather, which was a bit mixed.
We will definitely come back to Aan Veluwe and have already recommended it to fellow travellers at another site.
