  • Spacious pitches on the Dorset coast, overlooking Chesil Beach
  • A 10-minute drive to central Weymouth; 15 mins to Isle of Portland
  • On-site bar for drinks and food; play area and playing field
You’ll be able to squeeze the maximum amount of sea air out of your Dorset coastal break when you stay at East Fleet Farm Touring Park – this spectacular location is on the shores of the Fleet Lagoon, with views over Chesil Beach to the open sea beyond. Having sea views from the site means that you may be tempted to hang around on your pitch, put your feet up and simply take in the scenery for much of your break. And that’s not a bad idea at all – pitches are generously sized, with access to a play area and playing field for kids that may need a bit more activity. The well-stocked shop has various camping/caravan accessories and consumables, and it’s also the place to pick up a newspaper and an ice cream to take back to your camping chair. For more substantial eats, head to the on-site bar, which has an extensive food menu as well as a range of local drinks. It really is worth making the effort to get out and about locally though: there are some stunning walks on the South West Coast Path (which passes next to the site) and plenty of places to go for a bike ride. Weymouth and Dorchester are easily accessed too, as are the watersports of Portland and attractions such as Abbotsbury Swannery.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked: Fantastic staff, location, and facilities. Site was very modern and clean, tent pitches were well-kept and spacious, and the on-site shop had everything you might need. The restaurant was cosy and welcoming, and The Barn was a lovely place to spend the evening with live music and fresh pizzas. Staff were super friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. We didn’t travel with any children but the on-site park was a great place for them to play. What stood out was the thoughtful little touches that are largely forgotten by most sites but make holidaying much easier, such as wet room style bathrooms, free wifi, hair dryers, an iron and board, numerous fresh water taps, fresh breakfast options, and a lot more. Very happy campers, will definitely be returning!

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Facilities and location were excellent!

Disliked: Booked for a meal at the on site restaurant as bad weather. Aware there was a large table before us but had a2.5 hour wait for food. Believe a chef walked out so assume not ordinary service and offered a free drink after we’d had enough of waiting. Food was great, think we were unlucky that night tbh

Liked: Couldn’t wish for a better camping site. Beautiful views. Massive pitch with electricity and drinking water, very private, surrounded with hedges makes you feel more like in a back garden than a public space.Free wi-fi. Safe as access by car only through the gate with pass code. Easy access to many, very clean facilities as toilets, showers, laundrette. Shop, kids play area, field for dog walkers, restaurant and pub with life music. Everything you need is there❤️

Disliked: Quite far from the beach.

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
