What customers say

This top-rated campsite boasts clean, spacious showers and friendly staff. Enjoy the well-stocked shop and beautiful coastal walks. Most pitches are spacious, though some noted Wi-Fi issues and sloped sites. Occasional playground noise and peak-time toilet cleanliness concerns were mentioned.

Liked On our first night we had a call asking what time we were arriving… we had already checked in to pitch 209. I went to reception and had two bookings one under Rachaelpearce13@gmail.com and one under RachaelCollins@gmail.com
I wanted to check if I had paid for both pitches but Away Resorts told to to contact yourselves

Disliked Ended up with two bookings

Liked I love the site, it’s well maintained and in a prime spot. It is really clean and tidy at all times and great for those who want to take their doggos with them too.
The shop is really good and fair prices too. The pub is good value and allows dogs and the food was great everytime we ate there.

Disliked Nothing.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Great site. Good size pitches, we asked for a pitch near the coastal walk and that’s exactly what we got. Smooth check in and friendly staff. Showers and toilets good and exceptionally clean. Restaurant great, food excellent and good prices. Massive portions ! WiFi on site an added bonus. Would definitely come again.

Disliked Nothing all good

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked Very well kept site with fabulous showering facilities. In a great location giving access to the South West coastal path and all those popular coastal towns.
Well stocked shop, which also sold freshly baked pastries every morning.

Disliked A bit more care could be taken to give campers with tents better protected positions on the site. The wind was horrendous during our stay and battered away at the tent night & day. Some motorhomes were given more protected positions and didn’t need it as much as visitors with tents better. Anyone with a pole tent would have struggled, and we were surprised our Airtent survived. We left a day early due to the lack of sleep we had been getting throughout our stay.

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
