  • Peaceful family- and dog-friendly site near the banks of river Aisne
  • Half an hour’s drive from Soissons and 40 minutes from Reims
  • On-site restaurant, heated indoor pool and play area
If you’re seeking a stay at a site that welcomes dogs and families, narrow it down to Camping de la Pointe in Bourg-et-Comin, an Aisne park at the centre of a triangle made up of Laon, Soissons and Reims. As well as being close enough to these three top towns and cities for day trips, the site’s in a nifty location near a handful of historical attractions and within easy access of car-free adventures. Kick off scenic hikes and bike rides around local canals and alongside rivers or follow your compass towards lakes and ponds for fishing. Failed to land a fine specimen for supper? No problem. The restaurant just next door dishes up French cuisine using local ingredients and is run by folk who pride themselves on their traditional Breton crêpes. There’s also a takeaway option on pizzas – handy after long days out when all you want to do is get comfy in your digs for the evening. And if you fancy rustling up your own eats, barbecues are permitted. When your food’s gone down, dive into the heated indoor pool (open from April to September).

Power optional grass travel trailer, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovely campsite in a quiet and beautiful location.
Excellent restaurant with good food.
Jeffrey the owner was very helpful, he even replaced a broken bulb for us on our caravan.

Disliked Slightly small pitch to fit on both the car and caravan onto.
But I'm sure if I asked to move to another the owner would have accommodated us.

Power optional grass RV campsite

Liked From the start a warm welcome from the owners who were helpful throughout our stay. The pithes are large and easy to get to. We had one by the road and it was super peaceful.
The grounds are very well looked after as are the very clean toilets and showers. Washing machine and tumble dryer are first class and reasonably priced, tokens available from reception. There is a spacious pool which again is very well maintained.
The restaurant serves lovely food and has a well stocked bar. The take-away pizzas are excellent.
A park across the road and the nearby village are ideal for walks.
We stayed two nights and regretted not staying for longer.
It's ideal.

Disliked Leaving.

Power optional grass RV campsite

Liked Het is een mooi en schoon terreintje. Eigenaren zijn erg aardig en behulpzaam. Naast de camping runnen ze ook een restaurantje. Erg gezellig. Omgeving is mooi voor wandelen en fietsen. Mooie wandelingen direct vanaf de camping mogelijk.

Power optional grass RV campsite

Liked We stayed here in early April and were lucky with the weather during our two night stay. The site was quiet at this time of year. Lovely campsite with spacious pitches, and friendly, helpful owners. The countryside is beautiful, and perfect for walking and cycling.

Power optional grass RV campsite

Liked The pitches were well spaced with hedges between them which gave a bit of privacy. The staff were friendly. The site was small but nice.

Disliked The site is right next to a road which made it noisy and it’s located in amongst a housing estate to one side so lots of noise from neighbours during the day.
Couldn’t see the crêperie mentioned on website.

Local attractions

History buffs will be in their element hereabouts thanks to sights like the Caverne du Dragon, the Musée du Chemin des Dames (10 minutes’ drive), an underground museum set in former war tunnels and dedicated to WWI soldiers. Vauclair Abbey (10 minutes) is another old-timey spot to visit for roams around the ruins of a 12th-century Cistercian monastery; for architecture that’s a little more intact, take yourself over to the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Laon (25 minutes) or stroll around Soissons’ ancient centre, museums and gardens (half an hour). Another settlement to skip through is Reims for its striking basilica, cathedral and palace (40 minutes). This city – considered by many to be the capital of the Champagne region – also has a handful of houses hosting tours and tastings of the fizzy stuff the area is famed for. If sipping on bubbly hasn’t quashed your hankering for historical expeditions, head to Donjon de Septmonts (half an hour) and climb to the top of the keep for views out over the countryside. Follow up with a visit to the Fort of Condé monument (20 minutes) as well to see this 17th-century site on the Séré de Rivières system. And if the kids aren’t best pleased with all these bricks-and-mortar-based adventures? Take them along to the Parc de Coupaville adventure park (half an hour) to bound on the inflatable games.
