Liked Really nice well presented site. The pool was lovely, and was very warm! Yes the booking is a bit of a faff but once you get the hang of it it’s no bother. All staff we encountered were very good. We loved having the bar on site and the kids loved the karaoke and kids bingo. The arcade was fun too and we have so many keyrings as souvenirs. The beach and the seafront is a small walk away, and the chippy, the pizza place and the Italian restaurant are all very good. No shop on site, but the beach shop sold milk, bread and the essentials to tide you over. Beach was fab, the dog friendly bit was a slightly further walk but I thought it was nicer than the central part with the dog ban. Also there’s a nice cafe up at the airport about a mile walk down the beach. WiFi was hit and miss & signal on EE was moderate so good enough for Netflix etc. Setting up the electric online was easy enough & we stayed 8 nights and spent £25. A lot of reviews have commented on the toilet block needing an update, but that’s purely cosmetic. It’s clean, tidy and a good size, even if it was a good walk from where we were on the rally field! Kids have already asked us to book for May half term next year as they enjoyed the week so much. Previous reviews have also commented that it’s a bit noisy, but that was not our experience. We heard a bit of drama in the early hours on our last night, which woke us up, but this was not the campsites fault and was resolved quickly. 10/10 would recommend.

Liked This is a really basic site, it’s essentially just a field next to a road with hookups and some toilets. We stayed one night to break up a trip back from the south coast, and it was perfect for what we needed. There is a very scenic Marina opposite with a bar, and yes there was a little bit of road noise but there is plenty of space to pitch away from the road. Really laid back and relaxing stay - we considered staying another night and chilling but sadly we had to get home. Would absolutely return for another stop-over or even a weekend. Lack of showers didn’t bother us as we mostly used our own facilities, and there was loads of room to pitch up where you liked. Great for access to the M5.

Liked Nice site, easy to get to, the pub has a nice beer garden with lights which looks very pretty. Nice swing set for the kids to play on. Didn’t use the bathroom facilities so can’t comment. Good place for a stop over. Paid £3 for electric overnight.
Disliked We misread the checkout time and believe you me the owner is absolutely scarily ruthless at kicking you off your pitch! He went and unplugged our hookup without telling us to make sure we didn’t get a penny of free electricity. Luckily we didnt notice as we weren’t using it anymore. Don’t make the same mistake we did, and do read the info properly as it was a bad end to a nice stay.

From the manager: Hi, I'm sorry you had a problem understanding the check out time on the information we gave you at check in, We have printed it in bold to help with clarity. Our Bar manager has a very short period in which to check the pitches, reset meters etc, especially on a bank holiday weekend. I'm sorry you felt this left a bad end to your 1 night stop off.

All-weather FHU grass and gravel campsite
Liked Fantastic site. We loved the pool, the shop, the cycle hire and the onsite bar. The facilities were always spotless. The laundrette was also the cheapest I’ve used at a site. Great location for the Tarka trail, and a Lidl 5min away for food shopping. Didn’t use the WiFi, had moderate signal with EE which was enough to get watch a bit of Netflix if I fancied it. We were on one of the newer pitches higher up the hill, and they are very level, to the point where we are not sure our awning has ever looked so good before! The dogs also had a great time, and enjoyed our trips to the bar and sitting round the pool with me, watching the kids swim. And having a picnic table on the pitch was a real game changer. Never had one on a pitch before, wasn’t sure we’d use it, but it was so good to have and we used it loads. We really had a great time here.
Disliked Nothing, already considering booking again for next summer.

Liked Nice location, nice views across the river.
Disliked Nobody around to regulate pitching, so everything was a bit haphazard and people were pitching all over the place, groups with not enough space for a firebreak etc and cars blocking empty pitches. Could do with a bit more oversight as a really nice site overall. Toilet facilities a bit tired.

Liked This is our new favourite site. I don’t want to make this review too good in case it gets booked out and we struggle to get a pitch! Lovely views, peaceful site, coffee barn was fabulous, toilets were interesting at first but once you got the hang of them they were spot on! Kids play area was small but so thoughtfully put together it kept them entertained for hours. I’m looking through my upcoming weekends off to see when we can come back!

Liked Great site, clean, well looked after, fab and plentiful bathroom facilities, nice little DVD and book lending libraries available too. Fab play area and scenic walk by the lake. We really enjoyed our stay here!
Disliked For information only so you can play before you stay if you rely on your phones as much as we do: no mobile signal with EE. WiFi not even strong enough for us to set up google maps before leaving the site for a day out. Good 4G signal on Sky mobile. (Would 100% stay here again regardless!!)

Liked I can’t say enough good things about this site. The owners were fantastic and the cafe on site was brilliant & we ate there several days. We had a lot of rain during our stay but the pitches were really well drained. The animals weren’t out in the paddocks during our stay due to the rubbish weather, but the kids still got the chance to feed them and interact with them. Fab toilet block; clean and well cared for, Honestly I can’t recommend this site enough! Good TV signal, and good 4G signal on EE and Sky mobile. So much to see and do nearby. Thank you all so much for a brilliant stay.
Disliked My only fear is that it will be fully booked next time we want to visit!

Hope to see you again in the future.

Liked Treloy is hands down one of the best sites I have stayed at. The way the pitches are terraced & have hedges dividing them really gives a cosy & private feel even on such a big site. The main facilities block is one of the best I have seen. 3 washers & dryers meant that when the kids fell in the mud there was always a machine free to get things cleaned up. The family shower rooms are great - they are reserved for families with toddlers (which would have been amazing when mine were that little) but I confess did take my 9yr old in there one evening after she’d had one of the mud-falls mentioned above and grazed her leg badly - the showerheads in there detach so I could really get the cuts clean. The main showers are gold standard too. The only thing that would improve them is some music piped in. (Stayed at a lot of sites with radio in the loos this year so have been spoilt!) The pool was brilliant for the kids, and the closing time of 7pm meant we could even nip up for a quick swim after a day out. The cafe on site is also very reasonable, and we had a really good tea there one evening & my daughter was addicted to the breakfast pancakes. We can also recommend the smoothies & milkshakes in the shop. The staff were all fantastic, and it wasn’t a rowdy site so by 10-11pm all was quiet and we could hear the wildlife (including a fox screaming one night that scared the kids!) The visit from owl sanctuary one day was also a great little extra. I can’t say enough good things about this site honestly. I wish it was nearer to us so we could stay there all the time. Phone signal on EE was poor, slightly better on the Sky mobile ipad we have, & can’t comment on site WiFi as it didn’t reach our pitch. Wonderful week, will definitely return.
Disliked The secondary toilet block (with just loos) only has one sink, and I queued to wash my hands a couple of times, but it is spotlessly clean & well maintained and saves the walk to the main block for a wee in the middle of the night!

Liked Really lovely little site, great facilities, really clean & we loved the fruit trees dotted about as well as the roaming chickens. Liked What a fantastic site this is. The sea views are amazing, the site is so well cared for and tidy, and the toilets were spotless. We didn’t use the facilities much, & we saw the notices about the planned upgrade to the washrooms, but honestly the current ones are still very good! The pool area was one of the best we have seen, with changing facilities and toilets. The fact it was covered as well was just brilliant in the face of the wet weather we have - rain did not stop play! The beach you can access on site is perfect for rockpooling and my son was down there most low tides looking for crabs & shrimp. Good 4-5g signal on EE, good TV reception, can’t comment on any WiFi on site as didn’t try to access it. Lots to do nearby, and Aberystwyth in easy reach for sandy beaches and supermarkets for supplies. Cycle route 81 also in easy reach, if you have the stamina for the hills! I have looked at this site a few times over the years & not been sure about booking in case it was super-windy - so this is a message to anyone reading the reviews & wondering about the wind: yes it can get a bit breezy in bad weather, but honestly even then it’s not overwhelmingly bad at all. Book it and see for yourself and I guarantee you won’t look back! 5 star stay. Oh and make sure you follow the site directions for arrival, as we made the mistake of following the sat nav & had quite a hairy tow in on arrival!

Liked Hands down one of the best campsites I have stayed at. The shower block was absolutely top notch, the play area was perfect for the kids, good phone signal on EE (always a positive!) and even when the site was absolutely packed to the rafters, it did not feel cramped or busy. Good location for Sandringham & the surrounding area. We loved it here!
Disliked Absolutely nothing! Perfect stay.

Liked Fantastic facilities, clean toilet block, great dog walk and the play areas kept the kids busy for the whole stay. Very well cared for and well tended site. All of the staff were 5 star. Stunning scenery and lots to do nearby.
Disliked We went over the busy coronation weekend, and it was somewhat wild and woolly at times, with loud music, lots of booze as well as one or two scraps! Lots of people had travelled in big groups and had gazebos and communal areas set up all over the show which got a little loud and raucous at times. I suspect this isn’t typical as it WAS the coronation, but I wasn’t sure whether I was in North Yorkshire or Creamfields at times! BUT it did settle by around 11pm so definitely a positive. Wouldn’t stop us revisiting, but worth mentioning for others thinking of visiting at busy times.

Liked We had an overnight stay here on the way down to the with coast. Site was busy & lively & the other campers were all really friendly. The warden was great helping people get pitched & set up, & the kids loved the little shop on site! Lovely views & we could hear the rehearsals for that nights event as we were packing to move on. Not a site for a peaceful stay, but we would definitely like to come back for a longer visit. Can’t remember if there was WiFi as didn’t even try to find it - mobile signal was excellent though.
Disliked Toilet block was a little tired

Liked We have stayed at this site a couple of times before, and we do like it here. Pitches aren’t huge but they are adequate, and you will need a bit of levelling as the field is on a slight slope. It’s always lively here which we enjoy! The playground was great for the kids and the phone signal is good. Remember to bring your 20ps if you need a shower (I always forget!)
