Sometimes, you've just got to treat yourself and swap daily life for a bit of 'la vie de château'… and that's where this friendly Upper Normandy site comes in. Set in stately home grounds, with a spread of quality facilities and direct access to the scenic River Seine, it's quite simply a top spot to put down roots in while on a break in northern France. As the name implies, Château de Bouafles is in the grounds of a rather handsome manor. There's an appropriately lordly range of amenities here, including a well-equipped laundry room, fresh morning bread deliveries daily (except Wednesdays), a bar, a games room and books to borrow. If your hands need a bit of rejuvenation after making use of the site's washing-up points, simply chat to reception about getting your nails done on site – yet another potential perk of staying here. Don’t worry, the rest of your body and mind are catered for as well – there's fishing in the river, a launch where boats and kayaks can be floated, a miniature golf course, a playground and a full-size tennis court to keep guests occupied. Away from base, you can spend your downtime exploring the local area's other châteaux (including the fine specimen 10 minutes' drive away at Gaillard), sailing up and down the Seine or simply browsing the weekly street markets in Gaillon (15 minutes), Vernon (20 minutes) or Louviers (25 minutes).

Liked Private pitch , pretty village but not much going on , went to Gallion for the day , that was nice.
Showers and facilities all good , order the bread for collection next morning 😊

Disliked No hand out information on arrival , so had a couple of visits to reception, nothing too much of a fuss

Liked Quiet site, spacious pitches, lovely setting with a river walk at the bottom of the site so good for dogs, large picnic area, friendly staff and all around really nice site. I didn't go into the facilities so can't comment . Good location to see local sights

- Die gute Lage.
- Familienbetrieb.

Disliked - Der Hauswolf war zwar gut erzogen aber ein Vorbild für die Camper die Ihre Hunde an der Leinen führen mussten war das nichts.
- Sie haben einen schönen Gartenbereich bei dem Leider kein Aperitif genossen werden kann.

From the manager: Our dog is with us 24 hours a day, so he can’t be kept on a lead and never strays from the guest area – and it works very well. It’s been like this since he was born, and the same goes for all the dogs that stay with us.
I don’t understand why you didn’t feel comfortable having an aperitif on our terrace; it’s perfectly suitable.
If you have a problem with the dog, just let us know.

Liked Spacious pitches. Lovely grounds to walk around with some nice little trails. Welcome was friendly. The house front great area to relax in the sunshine. Shower facilities clean with lots of hot water.

Liked Arrived at the start of October half term. The welcome was good and easy. The pitch we had was a good size and had electric and water as booked. Toilet and shower block were a short walk and were modern and extremely clean and well maintained. The site had lots to do, but some inclement weather meant we couldn’t utilise, but lots to do for families. Great walks along the river too.

Liked Fantastic pitch,lovely people and a fantastic wolf as a house dog will go back if we pass again.

Staff very friendly and speak English. Toilets and shower facilities excellent.

Liked large plots with privacy ( hedging), helpful owners, great location for a trip to Monet's garden or an hours train into Paris from the local station (10 mins drive )
Used as a two night stopover on our way home from Pyrenees. Would use again.

Disliked The amenity block lights going out seconds after lighting up (Motion sensors ) Turning a shower into a bit of a weird experience.
