In the market for a quiet and peaceful location for your family holiday, but also like the idea of being within easy reach of shops and places to eat? And how about throwing in some sea views for good measure? If that all sounds like a fine mix, take a look at Broadfield Farm Holiday Park, a family-run Pembrokeshire park a mile from the centre of Saundersfoot and its lovely sandy beach. The immediate surroundings are rather lovely here, with countryside scenery on one side and a view out over Carmarthen Bay on the other. There’s plenty of space on site from which to admire the scenery, and it’s also not far to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path for walks to see some more of your spectacular surroundings. The folk that run this site haven't relied on scenery alone to make their farm a good place to stay, though – they’ve also installed a good collection of facilities including a play area, a launderette, a chemical disposal point and a modern bathroom block with toilets and showers. The real highlight for many guests is the bar/restaurant, located in a characterful old stone building with an outside courtyard area, where you can dine on tasty homemade dishes and pick from a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Working up an appetite for those meals and drinks should be easy enough, with lots of beaches, walks and outdoor activities nearby, along with family days out at the likes of Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo or Manor Wildlife Park.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Heated flooring in the shower / toilet blocks was a nice touch. Pub would have been useful however private party on the day we arrived when it would have been of use for a meal meant that it wasn't.

Disliked: The welcome was pathetic in short. Yes the Grand National was just about to start when we arrived and the pub was full, plus there was a private function so we were told no food could be ordered that evening which was part of our plan after a 5 hour drive. The way to show where the pitch was located was to be told to take a picture of another mobile phone...no site map at all. Asked if there was any takeaway menus or info for local food as the pub wasn't serving due to the private party was met with a half hearted search that lasted 5 seconds and again nothing was forthcoming not even any names of places to go away and look for on line. Told the wifi was public and no mention of purchasing vouchers for the privilege. No money was spent at the bar or wifi purchased as a direct consequence of the "welcome". Toilet blocks not cleaned the whole time we were there (4 nights) and the womens was down to the last roll of paper. Except that we had onward travel plans we would have gone home the first night.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Clean public areas,

Disliked: No very organised, was told to park were we could as was to go on the grass. Then had a knock to move as people that booked that pitch had arrived two days later. So we had to leave a day early. Also had a meal at JJs ordered our drinks and food the same time, happy hour between 4pm &7pm yet because we paid the billy just after 7pm we had to pay full price for the drink even tho the bill had one price they charged us extra. I have emailed direct no reply as of yet.

Liked: A warm welcome and extremely helpful when Campervan stuck in original pitch due to the poor weather making the grass pitch too soft. Allocated a hard standing pitch. Facilities clean and a nice restaurant and bar.
