  • Peaceful dog-friendly site with views of Eryri (Snowdonia)
  • On the banks of the river Gwyrfai; a 10 minute-drive from Caernarfon
  • Walking routes directly from the site; playground and games room
Adventurous types, unite, and make your way to Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park. This is the type of place where holidaymakers can hike all day long, and it's peaceful too, on the banks of the river Gwyrfai with views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains and the north Wales countryside. There are walking routes directly from the site – good news for those with dogs or a lust for adventure. One of the UK’s longest heritage railways, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, passes through the site on its 25-mile journey past the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). You might want to board it yourself Caernarfon (10 minutes’ drive) and see if you can spot your patch of land as you pass by. That’s after you’ve experienced one of the boat trips that run along the Menai Strait from the quayside below Caernarfon Castle, of course. There’s a very generous serving of facilities at Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park, from heated bathrooms and wifi to playgrounds and a games room. The pitches are spacious, giving you plenty of opportunities to soak in the scenery.

FHU grass campsite

Liked It was really easy to book and great communication from the staff. We got stuck in traffic on the way there and were worried we would be late so I emailed them and got a fast response. We had a fully serviced pitch for our large tent. The pitches are really spacious and the site overall is really fantastic. It’s a great location and the views were spectacular! We were in field 3 and were close to a lovely spot of river, great for paddling and escaping the sun (it was 30 degrees this weekend) as it’s slightly shaded with trees. Even though it was busy it wasn’t overly noisy. There were plenty of children and our 6 year old made new friends on the little play park behind our tent. Overall, a fantastic stay and will definitely be back!

Liked Our trip here is only our 2nd time camping ever! So it's all very new to me and my partner, but this site has everything and more. Staff were so helpful and kind, on site shop had everything that we had missed to bring with us, the toilet and shower blocks were amazing! Hot showers with great pressure and cleaned regularly but 2 ace members of staff. I used the on site laundrette washing machines which were cheap and easy to use. The stream at the bottom was our highlight me and my partner spent hours laid in the water cooling off. All the pitches are well maintained, outside bins were changed regularly. It was an incredible stay and we can not wait to bring back our daughter at the end of the summer! :)

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked The very warm and friendly welcome and consistent warmth and friendlyness throughout our stay.

The scenery and athmosphere

Ease of access to the walks and the wonderful opportunities to cycle.

The cleanliness of the site and the toilets, showers and camp kitchens.

Disliked No fault of the site but there appears to be a kennels close by or someone with a lot of dogs which bark during the night.
