Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked This is second year in a row we've stayed (for October half term) and we've loved it. The campsite is spacious and well equipped with hot showers, plenty of toilets and lots of room for the kids to cycle and run around! The location is ideal for exploring the national park (it's also got beautiful views itself) and it's a short walk into the village for a range of eating options. The staff are friendly and welcoming! Genuinely don't think you can find a better campsite in Snowdonia.

Disliked Nothing to dislike! The only thing to bare in mind is that there is a fast moving river running alongside the site (on the fringe) so don't leave kids to go off roaming unaccompanied.

Powered grass campervan or tent campsite

Liked The site was in a perfect location for our few days in Snowdonia.
The toilets and showers were lovely to use.
Free Wi-fi was very useful, as my phone had no signal in the area

Disliked May be some lights along the road/ walk to main gate. We did use a torch, but would be useful when waking into Beddgelert for an evening out.

Liked Lovely clean Campsite in the perfect location to explore. So much is on the doorstep. We were greeted by a lovely couple who turned out to be from our neck of the woods. They gave us some great advice for walks etc which we followed and were very glad we did. The Campsite is lovely with Incredible scenery.

Disliked Could do with some sockets in the toilets for hairdryers and straighteners etc.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked Lovely neat and tidy site. Good toilet and shower facilities and nice level pitches for numerous campers, ours had a view of Snowdon in the distance when the cloud cleared. It’s an easy walk (footpath) to the lovely village of Beddgelert, where you’ll find shops and pubs all situated next to the river. We liked it here so stayed an extra night. A number of WiFi boosters around the site for good internet connection.
Also a shortish walk upstream you’ll find the Sygun Copper mine which is well worth a visit.

Local attractions

Families can inspire their kids with a love of nature on a stroll along the Aberglaslyn Gorge straight from the campsite. Seasoned hikers might make for the start of the Watkin Path (five minutes’ drive), one of them more challenging routes up Yr Wyddfa/Mount Snowdon, or search out strenuous scrambles up Glyder Fawr (20 minutes). If you’re looking for more unusual activities, Zip World Llechwedd (35 minutes) will appeal with its zipwires and subterranean golf course. Perhaps that’s a bit too high octane for your offspring? Head for Llyn Dinas (15 minutes’ walk) for wild swimming and paddleboarding, or laze on the beach at Porthmadog (25 minutes). Slip a slice of Eryri heritage into your holiday with a wander around the museum at Sygun Copper Mine (five minutes’ walk, there’s a playground for younger kids too), or enjoy history-tinged meanders around the castles at Criccieth (25 minutes’ drive) and Caernarfon (half an hour). And don’t forget to pay your respects at Gelert’s Grave (15 minutes’ walk), the final resting place of a faithful dog once companion to the medieval Prince Llewelyn the Great.
