Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked Beautiful flat site set between steep wooded hills. Lovely river running through. Stayed 2 nights in my tent with my dog. Enjoyed the peace and tranquility, even though it was quite busy. Good clean toilets, showers and laundry area.

Disliked WiFi. Kept dropping out and extremely slow- wasn’t really worth having as we just kept on 3G which was actually quicker

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
As we are in a valley in the country, not all networks will work, but EE has perfect coverage. If you log into the Wi-Fi you can make WhatsApp calls and we are always happy to help you at reception.

Fantastic site, clean, friendly owners and plenty of space.

Liked Such a great site. Friendly, helpful and happy owners. The site and land surrounding it is beautiful, the river running through was the perfect addition for my boys. Facilities were great and always clean.
The site was full but not over crowded allowing the children to play in a safe environment. Would absolutely recommend to anyone and will be back.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked Excellent site, very quiet and relaxing with beautiful river running through the site, very clean and good walks round the area

Disliked Take plenty of provisions as only 1 shop within walking distance, no local takeaways for an easy meal, don’t drive the short way to Llangollen unless you want to boil your brakes(it’s very steep)

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
There are takeaways in Chirk which is 6 miles away and one of them delivers to the campsite.
Yes, please do not take the shortcut, please follow our directions as stated on pitchup. B4500

Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The campsite was in a beautiful location and right on the river bank. It was quiet and very clean and tidy. The owner was very pleasant and extremely helpful. The showers and toilets are spotlessly clean. Lovely river walk and an easy walk to the centre of the village. Everything about the site was excellent. Great place for children to mix and play games together on the large grass area.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Local attractions

If walking's your passion, this is the place for you, say the owners of Ceiriog Valley Park… The North Berwyn Way is for experienced or energetic hikers, covering 15 miles of waymarked route split into five sections; start at Llangollen if you want to tackle the full route. The Dee Valley Way is also waymarked over 15 miles and runs from Llangollen to Corwen. More energetic walks – and climbs – are around the Berwyn Mountains such as the hike around the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, but if you want to take things a tad more easily, take the steam train of the Llangollen Railway for the 10 miles between Llangollen and Corwen, or take a ride via a horse-drawn boat on Llangollen Canal, part of a World Heritage Site. Pony trekking and quad biking are also available in the area.
