What customers say

Lovely riverside spot, peaceful & super-clean. Owners are tops – friendly, helpful. Good pitches, great for dogs & nature. Wi-Fi can be iffy, road's a bit steep. Top value, folks'll be back!

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (riverside)

Liked Beautifully maintained site with excellent facilities. Had a lovely riverside pitch which really suited our spaniel…a great river walk right from the site too. Stayed for one night, midweek in October, so was very quiet. Wish we’d stayed longer, but it’s a site definitely on our list to revisit.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The owners were very friendly. We loved the pitch by the river. It took 15 minutes to walk to the hotel at Glyn Ceiriog for a drink.

Disliked Thought £8 for a bag of wood was expensive. Other campsites charge £6

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked A beautiful site tucked in the valley by a flowing river. Very clean, neat, tidy and well cared for. The pitches are spacious and many vans are set on long term pitches with an odd ad hock pitch up on hard standing pitchs. Suited more to long term arrangements than odd nights.

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
Just to clarify, we have 2 fields, the first is mostly hardstanding pitches for seasonal tourers and the second field is for short stay touring i.e. weekends and the odd night and holidays.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (riverside)

Liked We received a very friendly greeting and excellent local knowledge/advice. The pitch was really riverside, private & beautiful. The site appeared immaculate.
The facilities were clean and not too far away, but we didn't use or visit the ELSAN point. The electric appeared consistent(although we didn't use much). The shower was free, hot (but the riser was broken) and clean. A short, easy drive to lots of tourist sights.

Disliked The hard standing itself could have been bigger, it was hard to stay off the surrounding grass when moving around the outside of my small campervan. The grass to the toilet block was very wet (waterlogged?)& the lighting could have been improved, but I had a head torch & the view of the stars compensated!
Beware the steep slope down into the site if towing or bad weather!
No pub within safe walking distance (that we found).

Local attractions

If walking's your passion, this is the place for you, say the owners of Ceiriog Valley Park… The North Berwyn Way is for experienced or energetic hikers, covering 15 miles of waymarked route split into five sections; start at Llangollen if you want to tackle the full route. The Dee Valley Way is also waymarked over 15 miles and runs from Llangollen to Corwen. More energetic walks – and climbs – are around the Berwyn Mountains such as the hike around the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, but if you want to take things a tad more easily, take the steam train of the Llangollen Railway for the 10 miles between Llangollen and Corwen, or take a ride via a horse-drawn boat on Llangollen Canal, part of a World Heritage Site. Pony trekking and quad biking are also available in the area.
