Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Very friendly and helpful site staff, good, spotlessly clean facilities.

Hay-on-Wye is a good walk from the site and is a wonderful borderland market town famous for its many book stores.

Disliked The walking routes to Hay-on-Wye follow some relatively narrow roadways and involve footpath styles which would be difficult to negotiate with large dogs.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked Lovely site with nice bathroom facilities and very close to Hay on Wye. The staff were friendly and the pitches level. The water tap was literally a few steps away from the tent and the toilet block is really close to the pitches. Make sure you bring a long electric cable as our 15m just made it to the hookup point. I would definitely visit again.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Staff were great and very accommodating! Our son is autistic and we had requested a corner pitch, lady booked us two pitches to give us extra privacy. Thank you! Toilets and showers were amazing! Really clean, shampoo, conditioner and body wash all free! Amazing pot was facilities with a dishwasher!!! Loved watching the horses being trained at the race track behind the site. Easy walk into the hustle and bustle of the town. Very safe for children and dog. Beautiful site with big oak trees at the back of the park. Beautiful sunsets and dark skies… ideal for star gazing. A perfect place to relax and unwind.

Local attractions

Spreading along the banks of the River Wye, The Weir Garden (half an hour’s drive) has shaded waterside paths dotted with benches for picnics. Birdlife abounds here – from finches to mallards and woodpeckers – and if you’re lucky you might spot an otter, too. There’s also a walled garden and a glasshouse. The 13th-century cathedral in Hereford (40 minutes) holds the Mappa Mundi, a medieval map of the world drawn on a calf’s skin and adorned with real and mythical beasts, plus dog-headed men and one-legged people. After getting to know these unusual characters, visit the Museum of Cider, with its huge presses, and stock up on this locally made drink. To learn a thing or two about Wales’s mining history, head to the Big Pit National Coal Museum (50 minutes), which occupies a former coal mine. Don a hard hat and join the underground tour, which takes in both the coal faces and the engine houses.
