A tranquil rural getaway with large sites & stunning views. Praised for clean, eco-friendly facilities (compost toilets, showers). Owner Mike is frequently commended. Minor points: occasional plane noise, narrow access roads, and past signage issues being resolved.

Shepherd's hut (adults only)
Liked We loved our 2 night stay in the Shepherd's hut. Well designed and laid out - Mike was very helpful and had thought of everything for a comfortable and convenient stay. The campsite is nice and peaceful and the showers were fantastic!

Fabulous little site. Peaceful, relaxed. Nothing there for kids
Primitive grass campervan or tent campsite
Liked Gorgeous, quiet site close to Bristol. Lovely friendly owner. Very chilled site, plenty of shade and greenery. Campfire for every placement ( too dry this year so nobody lit a fire). Clean facilities, hot showers.
Disliked Roads to it are narrow so in our camper van it was a bit in convenient -It adds to the sense of being tucked away.
Only 2 showers wasn't a problem for us. Close to Bristol airport but not directly overflown hardly noticed it.
We recorded 15 different bird song over one evening and morning.

Great hut, very comfortable
Shepherd's hut (adults only)
Liked The hut was lovely, well kitted out with a comfy bed and plenty of seating options for inside and outside. Gas hob and some seasonings made cooking pretty straightforward, and there was a large cool box which Mike stocked up with fresh ice blocks, with options to get new ones from the freezer. The compost loo was close to our hut (Gandalf), and the surrounding hedges provided privacy and a lovely space of our own in the campsite.
Disliked A tea- towel for drying up would have been useful and the showers were a bit of a walk - at the bottom of the next field, but these were minor things and we had a great stay!

From the manager: Dear Kiera, so sorry about the tea towels I forgot!!,
it is a long walk to the showers , doesn’t help Gandalf being furthest away , very best wishes Mike.

Liked Vooral de sfeer van deze wonderlijke plek. Maar alles was gewoon pure magie: de klimboom, de weidsheid, de douches, de zitjes, de boer...

This is a really great option.…
Primitive grass campervan or tent campsite
Liked This is a really great option. Tends to feel like a farmer's field in beautiful countryside during the week and more like a standard campsite at the weekends with more families and townies around. The toilets were really great and the 1.7 mile hilly walk through beautiful somerset countryside to the nearest shop was fantastic. There's really nothing not to like about this place. It's difficult to connect to the internet and consequently provides a great opportunity for a digital detox. Overall, my stay here far exceeded my expectations.
