Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Clean, peaceful, friendly. Camp site plots layed out lovely a little sign post letting you know which plot was yours. Only having 6 tents made the trip peaceful, but also everyone was so much more considerate. The owner bought came with a friendly welcome a tour of the site. Fridge, freezer and kettle. Sinks and toilets always spotless. The owner makes he's own bubble mix and gave the kids a tub of it which they loved. Balls, games and sports equipment free to use. The lake was so close and was absolutely something out of a story book. The site is close enough to walk to the activity centre to rent kayaks and paddle boards at a reasonable price. The camp site is close to old barns and going this time of year with the shallows and Martin's roosting was magical could watch them for hours. The site was people quite but alive with wildlife just amazing. The barn owl being the highlight! This has being the families new favourite place. We will be back every year. I could go on and on about all the places within a 30 minute drive. But duster castle is a must

Liked Brian was so welcoming, and an absolute lifesaver when our tent’s pump broke. He is an absolute gem. He entertained our children with bubbles and a quad bike ride or two.
The location is great for walks around the lake and to explore Exmoor.
A beautiful, quiet setting for a peaceful stay.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Very well kept site, very clean showers and toilets, lovely hot and powerful showers. Use of freezer and fridge very helpful. The owners were very kind and helpful, really nice people. Loved the bubbles too!!! Literally a short path from the site brings you out to the lake, stunning views and very enjoyable walks. We loved having the fire pit and it was very reasonable £2 a day and £8 for a huge bag of wood, kindling and fire lighters. An absolute gem of a place and brilliant for water sports which we didn't do this time but would bring our paddle board next time. Loved watching the bats flying overhead at dusk and even though it was a bit cloudy, we had some stars!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Very remote and quiet campsite. Ideally located if you like walking or watersports.
Brian is super welcoming and makes you feel comfortable straight away (he’s very good with kids too!). He’ll give you plenty of tips about what to do in the area.
The facilities are very well kept and include 3 toilets, 2 showers, and 2 dishwashing sinks... all of these for only 6 pitches! There’s also a freezer, fridge, and kettle for extra comfort.
Pitch sizes ensure privacy. Very close walking distance to the lake (2 min), dam (10 min), and activity centre (10 min).
