  • Family campsite on a Dorset farm 15 minutes’ drive from Weymouth
  • Abbotsbury Swannery 15 minutes’ drive; Monkey World 35 minutes
  • Games field, play area and outdoor pool on site
You couldn’t get a more family-friendly site than West Fleet Holiday Farm. At 15 minutes’ drive from Weymouth in Dorset, there’s masses of space to run around, a three-acre play area with swings and slides, and an outdoor swimming pool with glimpses of the sea. With groups of friends not permitted on the site, and rules about noise being kept to a minimum between 10.20pm and 8am, this is a family-centric site where everyone should be able to get some good shut-eye. There are plenty of helpful facilities on site too, including a shop and off-licence carrying all the essentials, as well as showers, washing-up points and a launderette. The site is set in 15 acres of countryside near the Jurassic Coast, within walking distance of a section of the South West Coast Path along the shore of the Fleet Lagoon nature reserve (the setting for John Meade Falkner’s smuggling tale ‘Moonfleet’, half an hour’s stroll), where you can look across the water to the Chesil bank. Access this area using the local network of public footpaths or the site's private farm walk. Weymouth, its harbour and sandy beaches (15 minutes’ drive) provide excellent family days out and the site is a handy base for exploring family attractions throughout Dorset, like Lyme Regis and Charmouth (both 40 minutes).

What customers say

This is a clean, well-organized, and friendly site with excellent toilet, shower, and family bathing facilities. The on-site shop is well-stocked, and the clubhouse offers decent food. The swimming pool is a popular bonus, though access can be restricted. While many praise the cleanliness and peaceful atmosphere, some reviews mention sloping pitches, limited pool hours, and a desire for more accessible facilities for guests with mobility issues.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Really nice location and a well kept site. Plenty of things to do for the kids; swimming pool, play area, entertainment on weekends, pool table and board games that can be hired. Staff were really friendly especially the shop/reception staff aswell as the young man with dark hair working on the bar. I didn’t get anyone’s names unfortunately but will definitely be back.

Powered grass RV campsite

Liked A quiet site with excellent toilet, shower and family bathing facilities. Plenty of dishwashing sinks both outside and covered. Elsan point with hand wash basin and soap. Water fill up for Motorhomes and grey water disposal drain.
Club house does basic breakfast baps in the morning. In the evening there is a choice of pizzas, jacket potatoes and burgers among others. We chose the burgers which were made from the farms own cattle and were very good. These were served with chips. There was also a children’s menu. There was bingo several evenings and disco music which finished early so as not to disturb campers.
Swimming pool was clean and well maintained as were the grounds(booking in the shop was necessary to secure a slot).

Disliked Having a disabled husband I requested a spot near the facilities. We were given a pitch which was too far away for him to walk so he had to use our onboard shower and toilet. We had to drive our motorhome to the club house due the long distance and hilly terrain. Furthermore the pitch was on a slope and it made it difficult to stop sliding down the bed, and keep cups and plates on the table with many spillages occurring.
There were pages of rules and regulations which were unnecessarily long. Who wants to spend time reading lots of small print when on holiday. These could have been simplified into short, relevant, bullet points.

Liked Very well presented site. Nice pitches. Toilets and showers very good. Nice swimming pool. Dog friendly. Nice clubhouse and well stocked shop.

Disliked Dog friendly site but no area on site designated as a dog walking area where dogs can be let off lead.

No designated bins for dog poo.

Had to book to use swimming pool but understand the need to do this as I imagine it gets very busy at peak times of the year.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The staff were kind and helpful especially on our arrival, the site was quiet and very clean especially the showers and toilets, the pool was a great option for the day we had nothing planned. The walks and sunset were amazing and loved meeting two little ponies on our way through the field. I haven’t rated the WIFI as we did not use this facility.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.
