You couldn’t get a more family-friendly site than West Fleet Holiday Farm. At 15 minutes’ drive from Weymouth in Dorset, there’s masses of space to kick a ball around, a three-acre play area with swings and slides, and an outdoor swimming pool with glimpses of the sea. The farm is set in 15 acres of countryside on the Jurassic Coast, within walking distance of Fleet Lagoon (the setting for John Meade Falkner’s smuggling tale ‘Moonfleet,’ half an hour’s stroll) and Chesil Beach (about 40 minutes). You can also amble down to the South West Coast Path on the private farm track (20 minutes), or walk to the local pub in about the same time. Weymouth, its harbour and sandy beaches (15 minutes’ drive) provide fun-filled family days out, and the site is a handy base for exploring family attractions on the Jurassic Coast like Lyme Regis and Charmouth (both 40 minutes). There are plenty of helpful facilities on site, including a shop and off-licence carrying all the essentials, as well as showers, washing-up points and a launderette. In keeping with this being a family-centric site, no groups are allowed, and please keep noise to an absolute minimum between 10.30pm and 8am, so everyone can get some shut eye.

Ik was blij met Good large pitches… it was very windy and they changed our pitch on arrival so that we were more sheltered.
Toilets and showers were really clean and the pool was amazing… albeit a bit cold but we didn’t get the weather everyone else has as we went bank holiday weekend!
Staff were really helpful and the kids entertainer was really good, making sure all kids were involved… made my sons day!
Well stocked shop and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Ik was niet blij met Not really a dislike especially when camping but signal was not particularly good but then that’s kind of the point of camping anyway!

Ik was blij met The layouts to the different fields was really nice as they used hedges to section them off so it gave a bit of privacy. Also a bit of protection as we had a bit of rough weather.

The toilet's are good. Showers were ok it was the push button ones. They were all maintained really well.

It wasn’t overly busy which we loved I’m guessing due to being the last weekend of their season.

The swimming pool is a lovely touch and it wasn’t freezing cold.

They have a clubhouse that does food and have kids entertainment on over the weekend.

Nice big park for the kids.

Just a really nice place to go. We had the best time.

Ik was niet blij met Isn’t anything to do with the campsite but I accidentally left my shower gel in the shower and it either got taken or thrown away which is annoying but I can only blame myself.

Again nothing to do with campsite but the signal is shocking up there. It says 4G on your phone but struggled with everything. But a good way to switch off.

Ik was blij met The campsite was great, the pool was fab for the kids aswell as the play area. Plenty of space to run around and be free. Reasonable priced, the shop stocked a fair bit which was great. The only thing I’d suggest would be for the club house to do breakfasts, that would really top it off. The food in there in the evenings was okay.

Ik was blij met Beautiful scenery, so peaceful. Really loved it here.

Ik was niet blij met Only issue was the family in the tent next to us were very loud and shouting/swearing at one another. Not the campsites fault.

Ik was blij met Great site. Pool was good, facilities clean and well maintained. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We didn't use the club house so can't comment on it. Site was quite by about 9:00 every night as per site rules. Good little shop on site aswell.

Ik was niet blij met Nothing.

Weymouth (15 minutes’ drive) on the West Dorset Heritage Coast is a popular seaside resort for several very good reasons. As well as flopping on the beach on sunny days, you can try dinghy sailing, kayaking or windsurfing, watch the Town Bridge lift (and bring the traffic to halt) to let yachts into the marina, or learn about the Black Death of 1348 at the history museum. Most kids will adore meeting endangered primates at Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre (35 minutes). You can feed the stately birds (and cygnets in spring) at Abbotsbury Swannery, or wander around the water features at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens to spot sculptures tucked into the undergrowth. Both attractions are 15 minutes by car and set on Chesil Beach – just the spot for a bracing stroll in the sea air. Putting a bit of heritage into your holiday mix, have a gander at the gun platforms and Tudor kitchens in Portland Castle (20 minutes), while red-and-white Portland Bill Lighthouse (half an hour) has splendid views over the Jurassic Coast from its lantern room. Fans of military vehicles can spend all day admiring scores of vintage tanks at The Tank Museum (40 minutes), while railway buffs might prefer to see the scenic coastline on board a Swanage Railway steam train (an hour).
