  • One of the closest sites to Bournemouth
  • Sociable atmosphere that respects guests' peace and quiet
  • Lots of water-based activities to do nearby
If your destination is Dorset-based, farm yourself out to the friendly folk at St Leonards Farm Caravan & Camping Park, which is a splendid base for exploring Bournemouth, Poole and the New Forest. This is a place that has sparkling clean loos, toasty hot water for showers and washing up, and well marked-out pitches – clearly these farm folk know what campers want. And canine campers are welcome too. If you want to sizzle your own sausages, you can exchange gas cylinders on site and there are two major supermarkets within five minutes’ drive, or two pubs within a mile and a number of nearby restaurants if you’re feeling lazy/thirsty. St Leonards Farm is a sociable but quiet site and has a 'no noise after 11pm' policy – most welcome if you’re getting up at the crack of dawn for some seaside exploring.

Liked Good location

Disliked We stayed there because was very close to festival which we attended. When my partner went to reception to tell them we’re coming late so he been told we can’t come after 23 because nobody open gate for us. (Gate was automatically registration recognised). Lady said we can leave car outside and walking in to the campsite. We travel in camper .We couldn’t stay long on festival. Feeling a bit disappointed what lady in reception told

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We do make it very clear in our T&C's and website that the site gate is closed at night for security reasons. Like most campsites we have been to. We offered you to stay in the late night arrival bay just outside which is fully serviced with water and EHU. Unfortunately we are not going to compromise the park security or change the park rules for one individual. Please check each campsite you stay at to ensure it's rules and procedures meet your very specific requirements.

Powered grass campsite

Liked We have just got home from a 3 night stay at St Leonard’s, perfect for what we wanted, Toilet/shower block a bit dated but kept clean and tidy, Great park and football field/dog walking area. Quieter than we thought it would be which was also nice, everyone seems to respect the rules which was nice to see and everyone else using site seemed really friendly. Walked up to Sainsbury’s and Lidl in morning for a few bits (15/20) min walk. Can also walk to pub (Beefeater) in 15 mins. Would definitely go back.

Local attractions

St Leonards Farm is one of the closest sites to Bournemouth, with sandy beaches only seven miles away. There’s loads to do nearby if you’re feeling full of beans – try watersports such as windsurfing, sailing or surfing at Bournemouth’s artificial reef, or get busy with some go-karting, dry slope skiing, golf, fishing or horse-riding in the scenic surrounding countryside. Feeling a bit tired after all that sporty exertion? Take a picnic to nearby Moors Valley Country Park, which has a golf course, cycling routes and outdoor play area, or have a family day out at a plethora of local attractions including Paultons Park, Marwell Zoo, Beaulieu Motor Museum and Wimborne Minster Model Town. Kids will likely enjoy fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast, and if they’re disappointed by not finding a T-rex skeleton right there and then, you can take them along to the Dinosaur Museum at Dorchester, then spoil them with a day out at Adventure Wonderland less than three miles from the park. The site is also an ideal stopover point for the Poole or Portsmouth cross-channel ferries.
