What customers say
Relaxed site with great country views, friendly staff, and clean facilities. Guests love pitch choice, free fire pits, and value. Hilly terrain and occasional noise noted, but many find it a peaceful, convenient base and plan to return.

Overpriced for no electric and a basic field.
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked No check in and out times
Could be nicer if it was wardened. Needs people patrolling to control things
Disliked Over priced £29 for a non electric field full of dried grass with the constant stench of cow poo. Kids playing in the toilets which were a mess. No wii fi reception. Left as soon as we could . Nobody on reception on arrival and not open until 8.30am

Nice little site.
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Great location and easy access to the routes to explore the area. Pitching up was very easy. There was an issue with a small group of campers who were extremely inconsiderate and playing music (and fire juggling in the middle of serious drought!!) beyond acceptable levels for any campsite trying to sleep. The team responded very quickly to complaints and came and spoke to the guilty party to stop their selfish behaviour. We were very grateful for that.
Disliked Nothing really, very acceptable for the price. We arrived around 4pm and found a place to pitch easily enough. We were in a van so the slope at the top of the hill was not an issue.

Not a good Campsite for Children or Dogs
Primitive grass tent campsite (medium)
Liked Clean Shower/toilet Block
Disliked ~Hard to drive to,(with a big van )& not easy to find.
~The track into the campsite was full of potholes, and I had to go on grass to drive down it.
~Shop closing at 10:00 am & just selling drinks, sweets & crisps.
~Hilly Field, (hard to find a flat bit)& straw got everywhere.
~Smelly, noisy cows, right next to the fields.
~ Non existent Play Ground (1 round swing & Slide)right next to the Track.
~ No where for the Dogs to go eg: exercise Field or close dog walks.

will not be staying there again.
Primitive grass tent campsite (medium)
Liked Nice Views & the toilet/ shower block was clean.
Disliked we stayed in the large field, it was hilly & covered in straw, that got everywhere, there was supposed to be lots of walks for dogs we found none,we had to keep our dogs tied up, but there were dogs, just roaming around weeing up peoples tents, & the cows were noisy & smelly. The shop was only open from 8:00 till 10:00 am & did not sell much anyway except cold/hot drinks & sweets. The playground was non existent one round swing & a slide & right next to the one track in & out of the field.there was one water tap for the whole site. we ended up leaving early as the field was so crowded & noisy & nothing to do. It was also hard to get to & from with our large van.

Primitive grass tent campsite (small)
Liked Amazing views, sunset, toilets showers were fine. Free fire pit hire.
Disliked Cow smell non stop. Massive cow barn closeby, and the smell was there all the time. Very tiny kids play park

Primitive grass tent campsite (small)
Liked The views of the countryside are really impressive at Treacle Valley, it is hard to believe that North Torquay is just over a hill away. It was nice to stay on a working farm and see the cows in the barn. The toilet & shower block exceeded my expectations.
Disliked The campsite is very family orientated and personally I found it a bit busier than I would have liked. Although there is a campsite office it is only open a couple of hours in the morning.

Primitive grass tent campsite (small)
Liked Beautiful views, close to everywhere we planned to go, very clean showers and toilets, easygoing re checking in and out and the way we bought wood for campfire. Nice size, felt really in the nature but close and easy to places we wanted to visit. Free WiFi. Friendly staff. All you need, would definitely come back there.
