What customers say

This is a clean, well-maintained, and friendly campsite in a great location, a short walk from Exmouth beach and coastal paths. Visitors frequently praise the excellent, modern toilet and shower facilities, spacious and private spots, and the helpful staff. Despite a few mentions of a nearby sewage smell or narrow access lanes, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests planning to return.

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite (maximum 6 metres)

Liked Well maintained pitch with nice comfortable grass. Great facilities and shop on site. Friendly staff! Find Guinea fowl roaming about!

Disliked The only downside we had was that we were on a pitch surrounded by caravans and RV’s so we felt a little bit small, would’ve been nice to be around a few other tent campers or away from the roadway. However, was a non issue and we understand better to have everyone close together when it’s not busy.

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite (maximum 6 metres)

Liked Location was great. It’s a beautiful campsite, nice big pitches. Excellent shower toilet cubicles. Nice relaxed area with picnic tables.warm welcome at reception.

Disliked The Friday night there was a wedding in the adjourning building which did seem to link into the camp site. Noise through the night until 0300. The campsite has notices about respecting quiet time from11:00. This should apply if the are holding a wedding in the farm building or campers should be advised of this at the time of booking. This did let the experience down.

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite (maximum 6 metres)

Liked Spotlessly clean with excellent facilities. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and you are just a short walk down a country lane from the seafront and Exmouth itself. Great communication before my stay.

Local attractions

Start your stay at Prattshayes Campsite by sticking close to site, as there’s loads nearby to keep you (and the whole fam) busy. Head into Exmouth for the Exmouth Museum, then venture a little further out for the World of Country Life park, Hawkridge Bird of Prey Centre, Bicton Park Botanical Gardens and the weird and wonderful 16-sided National Trust property A la Ronde, all less than 15 minutes’ drive from the site. A la Ronde whetting your appetite for history and stately piles? Fab Powderham Castle is just over half an hour from Prattshayes Campsite, and is open for tours and lots of special events. If that’s still not quite enough, the museums, underground passages and cathedral of Exeter (worth a visit for shopping and food too) are also a little over half an hour from the site. If you have kids in tow starting to protest about the walk down (centuries-old) memory lane, there’s oodles nearby to get them back on side… Start 20 minutes away with some go-karting to blow off steam, get their adrenaline pumping on the rides at Crealy Adventure Park (25 minutes), then pile them into the car for a jaunt to Paignton Zoo, less than an hour away.
