What customers say
Well-kept, tranquil, and welcoming campsite with a natural vibe. Guests loved the clean facilities, peaceful spot, and kid-friendly natural play areas. Minor issues like damp wood for fires or distant road noise were noted, but overall it's a great value, relaxing getaway with many wanting to return.

Excellent family site.
Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We loved this peaceful, pretty campsite. Great showers, access to a freezer and fridge was very helpful and it was so easy to get to from the main roads. I loved the hammocks set up in the trees and the play area for children was perfect.

Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked A small campsite in a great position for accessing Dartmoor and home. The facilities were well maintained and cleaned regularly. The campsite was quiet but still child friendly. The wood burners were a nice touch, as was the electricity oh this kind of campsite. The owner was friendly and contactable and we appreciated the communal fridge which meant we didn't have to go shopping every day. Self Check in was really simple.

Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Perfect quiet countryside getaway. Lovely and relaxing reading in the hammock listening to the birds (owls at night!) and stream in the background. Firepits to hire were great. Brought two 12 year olds with me and was lovely to see them enjoying the outdoors too

Great value. Clean, chilled, friendly - definitely stay here again.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Peaceful and relaxed site. Excellent value for money. Clean showers and toilets. Friendly vibe. Birdsong, owls, the gentle sounds of the stream, stars on a clear night - a lovely place to be.
Quite a simple site but very well done. The unmanned reception is great with all the info you need and contact details for the owners if needed. Fire pits and logs available on site and we were even visited by an ice cream van on Sunday evening. I was really glad to have found this little gem. (This review made me give a score for wi-fi - it’s 1 because they didn’t have it but I heard the owner saying they might have it next year - didn’t bother me as it was good to switch off)
Disliked Not a deal-breaker by any means but you can hear the A30 in the night. That’s only to be expected as you are relatively close to it- but as a fairly consistent low-key rumble, it’s not a problem and can be quite soothing.

Stay ruined by raw sewage smell & inconsiderate actions of others
Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Small site, access to a fridge, freezer and kettle was awesome. Rental of firepit and wood was great. Showers and toilets were clean. Owner kindly helped us out by doing an emergency load of laundry. Kids rope swings and hammocks were lovely and much loved by our 2 kids.
Disliked The smell coming from the chemical disposal waste was very very strong- seemed to be an open cavity with no plug or even a door? Its central location meant that we had to walk past it a lot. Every little puff of wind carried the smell down to us at our pitch, and it was incredibly off putting. To be honest this alone ruined our stay.
Despite guidelines saying to arrive between 2pm and 8pm, there were many late arrivals, with people setting up late (9.30- 10pm car running, noisy pump to inflate airbeds etc) and cars coming after 11pm.
Issues with other site users smoking weed, which I reported to owners, but it happened again the next night. On last night my husband had to abandon brushing his teeth to let another camper vomit. Presumably linked to a empty bottle of tequila we saw in recycling the next morning.
Road noise was noticeable, and showers were way too hot and non adjustable.

From the manager: Thank you for your comments and for listing so many positive things you liked about our campsite. It was really lovely to meet you and your family and I am sorry that there were things that fell short of your expectations. We try to have very clear rules about campers arrival times and behaviour on site. We are usually a very quiet, family orientated campsite and our other reviews reflect the safe and friendly environment. It is unfortunate that a minority of campers did not act in an inclusive and considerate way during your stay. It is very unusual for our campsite. I will make sure that we address any smell coming from the sewage treatment plant. I totally understand that this would have effected your enjoyment of the campsite. We will also adjust the thermostat on the showers which are at a factory setting. As you know we live here and are available to help out campers and can usually fix things quickly when alerted to them. I really appreciate your comments and hope you had a good journey home. Chinnie and Henry
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a smaller and quieter campsite.
Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked This was a perfect find for myself and 2 boys, 6 and 9.
The campsite has enough to entertain the boys with tree swings, hammocks, go kart and space to explore, but small enough for me to not worry and always know where they were.
Showers were always hot and available. The showers and toilets were clean and stocked up always.
There is a kettle in reception, fridge and freezer
Disliked In the words of my 6 and 9 year old “nothing!”
