It’s all about the greenery at quiet and sheltered Tremarne Campsite, close to the centre of Cornwall: there’s masses of it in this spacious site’s grounds, and it has spectacular views over lush countryside as well. Plenty of room is all around for children and dogs to play, or for grownups to sit back while taking in the sunrise If you’ll be out and about in the evenings (perhaps at the restaurants of St Austell, slightly inland, or beside Charlestown’s harbour down by the south coast) you won’t have to go far as both are within 10 minutes’ drive of the family-run site. A beach is also 15 minutes away – the pretty cove of Porthpean – and top Cornish attractions like the Eden Project are about the same distance. It's worth heading over there to roam in the biomes, passing by plants from many different climates and environments, from desert cacti to European wildflowers; you might also like to have a gander at other green spaces like the Lost Gardens of Heligan (20 minutes) near the fishing town of Mevagissey and its working harbour. The various 19th-century-style subtropical sections that make up this horticultural hotspot are rather dazzling. Back on site, the grounds have generously-sized pitches; guests also have access to a smart and well-maintained modern shower and toilet block, recycling facilities, chemical disposal and a covered washing-up area with scenic views. And, once all those essentials are dealt with, you can grab a beer to chill out with at the on-site bar…

  • The bar “The Peg & Mallet” is open from 7pm - 10pm (Closed Wednesdays & Sundays) In dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions any cooking appliance must be raised at least 30cm above the ground, using a grass heat protector and have a bucket of water in case of emergency.

Liked Absolutely beautiful little site and lovely owners , very welcoming. Site is kept very clean and tidy with onsite bar which the owners work themselves. So glad we found this site , shower and toilet blocks very clean. The owners were very informative of local food venues and beaches etc making day planning easy also . A great little dog wash station also if you bring your dogs or even to wash down after the Beach

Liked Spotlessly clean and tidy. Craig and Kelly are really friendly and helpful. Love the bar, great cocktails! Love the fact that music is piped into the toilet block. Plenty of hot water for showers and washing up. Theres even a dog rinsing facility for washing sand/seawater of your dogs and wetsuits.
The location is central, so great for exploring Cornwall. This is our second visit to Tremarne, we'll definitely return to stay again.

Disliked There's an independent Chinese takeaway van on a Saturday. We were really looking forward to it, but were disappointed with the quality of the food. Obviously this is subjective to the individual and is no reflection on the site itself.

Liked This site is an absolute gem. Attention to detail and all the personal, friendly touches add to the experience when staying here. Craig and Kellie were excellent hosts, friendly and informative. The site was immaculate, with beautiful flowers and not forgetting the most brilliant pub on site. We only stayed for 3 nights and wish our plans could have been changed to stay on. To sum it all up, it was spot on.

Liked This is a great site. Lovely and clean and very well laid out. Craig and Kelly are wonderful site owners and they found us a pitch in the shade, pitch 31, which was very welcomed as it was very hot when we arrived. Kelly gave us maps and recommended certain beaches.
The site has its own well stocked little bar with plenty of covered seating.
The site owners are very friendly and came to chat with us every day to check we were OK. They gave us a bbq stand to place our bbq on which saved us scorching the grass. We did scorch it a bit, but Craig gave us some bricks and this was better.

To mix in a bit of time at golden sands alongside green explores, get along to the sandy Cornish Riviera beach of Carlyon Bay, 20 minutes' drive away, for swimming and watersports including jetskiing and paddleboarding.
